Solutions to Somalia regions/Somaliland Politics

Post by MRnutritionist »

A letter to Somalia/ regional government, Somaliland, international community and IGAD

1. Somalia
To speed up and create local governments, that makes happy for all Somali people we suggest
a. let Hiiraan people govern them self's, split hiiraan in to two regions to create new Somali federal state member, and if it makes happy let Matabaan join Galmudug and the rest of Hiiraan becomes new federal state.

b. Let Banadir and middle shabelle form new Federal state, and move the capital in a small town that all parties agree. This means some or all Federal governments offices will operate from a new small town " capital" where as Mogadishu will always be the biggest city in Somalia just like Sydney which has all the embassy and let Somali government officials have new offices to the new " Capital" like Canberra Australia.

c. Let Khaatumo/Makhaahir people chose where they want to be either support by vote to form a new federal member Khaatumo/Makhaahir or join Somaliland if they choose.

d. Let Somaliland to become a country if the people of Somaliland choose

2. Somaliland will need to respect and let it go Khaatumo Makhaahir if the people choose to form new federal state of Somalia, and Somalia need to respect Somaliland to become a new country

This is the only way we will see every Somali region to happy a win win situations for all.

eventhough i dont believe the op has addressed the major issues in need of a solution, he has brought upon an argument.

the least you can do is to voice your opinion in a way that makes sense.

in regards of the topic, the issue of khaatumo is a lot more complicated than somaliland/khaatumo. the puntland factor has to be taken a lot more serious.

if we really want to solve somali issues we need to tackle it from the root. we need to create borders based on reality rather than alley corner politics that have no legitimacy on the ground.

all our problems are border related, the sooner we realise our problems the sooner we can aim for prosperity accross the lands

You don't really know Somali people and their demographics very well, the people that live in Hiiraan and Shabelle Dhexe are the worst in the whole of Somalia in terms of doqonimo, they will never form a state unless you force them by the barrel of the gun, they never had a functioning maamul in those states before like Galmudug did

Like many wise man have said before, the smartest people live in the old Mudug, that's were the country was destroyed and that's the only place were it can be fixed, HSM is reer mudug and so far since the post civil war there hasn't been a better president then him, the problem is with Majerteen particularly mohamoud saleeban, C/Yusuf is the best they have produced in terms of leader but came at the worst possible time, if they had produced any other astute politician like him unlike the cowards AbdiProzac and Faroole whom are scared of their own populations, a lot would have changed in the country.

C/Yusuf made allies, never antagonized his neighbours, compromised and his people respected and feared him at the same time, he signed away Laascanood to S/Land and no one dared to question him, you don't see him like AbdiProzac in fear saying "I will have to consult with my people" he signed what he thought was best and everybody else toed the line, the current P/land leaders sign and lie to their people out of fear.

The other side of Mudug has those leaders now, but Majerteen still hasn't produced such a leader yet, when they do, you'll see everything change, when both the president and prime-minister work on a common goal rather then against each other, for as long as the old mudug is divided so will the rest of the country.
