$70 billion dollars spent by poor Americans in 2014 on buying lottery tickets.
Around 20% of US states earn more tax revenue from lottery sales than from Corporation tax.
Over 50% of lottery revenues & winnings goes back to government as federal, state and city taxes.
Some of this money is used to REDUCE property taxes, sales taxes and income taxes.
This results in the relatively affluent getting a tax rebate, whilst the relatively poor fund the difference.
