The shuhada has to be removed from the flag. Only Munaafiqiin such as Saudi, Sadam hussein use Shuhada.

Eventually we have to, the flag without the religious declaration looks much better. There are alot of Somaliland flag without the testimony and it looks more professionals. The current flag looks like Isis flag to the rest of the world.

As for the name, if Somaliland wants to be taken seriously it needs to change it. Somaliland is a colonial name and sounds silly. It's like calling a country Chineseland or Turkishland - the place is not a theme-park.

if Somaliland is colonial name what is Somali- A. in fact somaliland or ardul somal name existed before the so called somalia.

Somali= is our ethnicity
Land= is our land

now tell us where the phuk does this somali "A" came from and what does it mean ?

@Togdheer, I think we should call ourselves something that has a historic basis like Adal Republic or Berbera. Look at Eritrea, did they call themselves Tigreyland? They named themselves after the ancient name for the Red Sea region "Erythria".

And we call ourselves by our medieval name, Bar_al_somaal ( somali land) as opposed to bar al carab.

The moment we remove the shahada officially expect major fitna and natural disasters. The shahada is protecting us from all the evil things happening in the world today. We should never remove it officially . However I recommend that we should use takbiir-less flags in 18 may and 26 June music festivals, to keep the shahada clean. It's heart breaking when young landers use drugs under the takbiir, when females wear the shahada during their period or we leave the flags behind toilets after the party. We must respect our flag.

The name Somaliland is fine. But Somaliland has the ugliest flag in the world. And if it is indeed designed by an Arab as you say, then it deserves to get burned and pissed on. And please do away with the arabic inscriptions on it, it makes you all look like terrorists. And you will never ever get recognition as long as you have that ugly flag. The world is not ready for a new argagixiso nation.
