The artificial womb is not far from becoming a reality. Then there'll be no use for women.

Lol, and where on earth will you get those female gametes via egg donation? You might be interested to know that mad scientists are considering biological alchemy of changing sperm into eggs. It'll be a hit with the qanis that want a biologically related child. I smell an anti-woman agenda. :damn:

Woman is useful to a man without her having a womb at all. I actually prefer that as I would have nothing to worry about as a consequence of pleasure. She does not have to use altering hormones to prevent pregnancy and deal with side effects. A woman's worth is more than having a babe bro. Look at the forum? some people are better off dead and so useless that their moms having no womb to host them would have been better for the community.

Everything should be reasonable so they can be accommodated. I agree with you on that premise. However, Somalis because of culture confuse etiquettes and expectations with personality. You come across as nonromantic and realistic with basic expectations in marriage. Nothing wrong with that as long as you meet your match.
I'm a paradox - practical and idealistic. There's a push and pull between both forces. I suppose I normally have rose-coloured glasses on of infinite possibilities so the idealism wins a lot, but the grounding of reality makes sure my thoughts are never clouded for long. I don't mind saying adieu because feelings are subject to change and are not something to base marital decisions on. I've learned it takes more than a profound liking of a brother to base matrimony on. It takes similar values and goals. Like or dare I say love is not enough to sustain a marriage. And yes; love is overarching a term and can also be used to mean anything from infatuation to unconditional love. The spectrum is large enough to include all definitions. Albeit Somalis believed in love between non-married persons more as a fixation on a pleasant appearance, swagger. great oratory and/or reputation. Often the romance was never explored but in certain cases, something happened and livestock was rounded up for a handsome brideprice.

Marriage can be sustained without love as earlier generations did since they came into the contract with set expectations each person was willing to fulfill to their best abilities. They were nonmaterialistic, understood the responsibilities, cared about family name and image, had the support of relatives who provided help when there were marital problems. Today the primary and fundamental basis for marriage is Lust and Love that start to degrade as soon as the wedding ceremony is over. Nobody takes marriage serious and the rights of husband and wife. It is all about what you can give and get back. There is no belief in the institution of marriage. No one is willing to endure hardships or short-comings that can be over-come. And majority of young people choose their partners based on solely the physical attraction and don't care too much about the brain farts accompanying these good looks.

You are grounded in reality based on what you wrote. Hope you meet your match if you haven't already
