Sending Monthly Payments to Mother/Father-In-Law

So lets say, your Mother/Father-In-Law is poor and you feel like helping them. They haven't asked for help but you can see it. You want to give some monthly sadaqa to them. Is it appropriate to send to them directly or Through the wife?

I want to help without embarrassing them.
