The debate about Somalis being linked to Ancient Egyptians
You remember a couple years ago when Somalis were all saying that we are descendants of Ancient Egyptians. Some stated facts with anthropology, linguistics, and history etc.
Well just recently they took DNA test from mummies. And they found out that their DNA is more similar to people of the Regions of Turkey, and the Levant. They got mummies from Time periods of The new kingdom to the ptolomeic time periods and examined the all. And cake up with that comclusion. I'm still a little skeptical because they method of experimentation wasn't explained. Also there could be so many errors. But they are using science so....
The thing is, I remember reading the statements and prayers of Queen Hatsepshut, and she referenced the land of punt being the origins of the Ancient Egyptians, the land of "gods"
None of this matters really. But it's interesting from a historical, anthropological, and archaeological standpoint. Also this would shut people up, as soon as we get a conclusion

Re: The debate about Somalis being linked to Ancient Egyptians
They admitted not to have examined all the mummies. Egyptian Pharaohs should have similar genetics to E1B1B group. Somalis carry the highest percentage of that.
"Outside Europe, E1b1b is found at high frequencies in Morocco (over 80%), Somalia (80%), Ethiopia (40% to 80%), Tunisia (70%), Algeria (60%), Egypt (40%), Jordan (25%), Palestine (20%), and Lebanon (17.5%). On the European continent it has the highest concentration in Kosovo (over 45%), Albania and Montenegro (both 27%), Bulgaria (23%), Macedonia and Greece (both 21%), Cyprus (20%), Sicily (20%), South Italy (18.5%), Serbia (18%) and Romania (15%)."

Re: The debate about Somalis being linked to Ancient Egyptians
According to your numbers, Morocco & Ethiopia have 80% of E1B1B. Doesn't your claim that "Somalis carry the highest percentage of that" contradict the numbers?WiredForGood wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2017 9:28 am They admitted not to have examined all the mummies. just because there are legends doesn't mean anything, romans thought rome was founded by the sons of wolves, chinese think they are the centre of the world etc
obviously ancient egyptians were middle easterners despite what they said, after all egypt is closer to palestine than to madoows
blacks (including somalis) have zero history so they latch onto the only civilization near them and people just go along with it because they pity tariikh laa'an african negroes

No. Some Somalis sailed, walked or rode to Egypt, settled there and gave birth to the revered Egyptian civilization.Samsee wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2017 1:41 pm obviously ancient egyptians were middle easterners despite what they said, after all egypt is closer to palestine than to madoows

Any reference to Ethiopia(40%) means Somalis and Oromo with few related groups but not Habasha/amhara and Tigrenya.
They used Somali samples, afar, Oromo as Ethiopians.

There-in lies your answer. They admitted not to have examined all the mummies.
Which period are up for research, after all Ancient Egypt has over 5,000 years old history? The Old Kingdom, Middle Kingdom, New Kingdom or Ptolemaic Egypt?
Dig deeper.

White people be like "Yes We wuz the ones who built Ancient Egypt, that sunburn, we just put up with it!"

Meanwhile, the ancients left images of themselves

Re: The debate about Somalis being linked to Ancient Egyptians
The reference "Ethiopia (40% to 80%)" means 60% solid, and up to 80%. I don't think Somalis and Oromos make up 60% of the population.WiredForGood wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2017 5:18 pm Any reference to Ethiopia(40%) means Somalis and Oromo with few related groups but not Habasha/amhara and Tigrenya.

Amhara/Tigrinya don't have same genetic lineage as the rest of People who live in Ethiopia and who don't see themselves as Ethiopians. An Ethiopian is considered only Amharic/Tigrinya, the rest don't see themselves as such. Any reference to Ethiopia will always need to be clarified as it hosts different ethnic groups who don't see themselves as one people. Genuine east Africans like Somalis don't have Arab lineage unlike Habashis/Amahara/Tigrinya who are half Arab breeds. Somalis are purely their own stock/brand of East Africans without Arab mixture. A pure Somali does not show Arab lineage in them unlike Habashis who are half breed.
PS: Oromos outnumber all other ethnic groups in Ethiopia. Over 40 million last time people bothered to do an estimate. If you add other non-amharic groups like Somalis, they form the bulk of Ethiopia.

Re: The debate about Somalis being linked to Ancient Egyptians
Africans abandoned Ancient Egypt during the ten year drought and invasion of the Persians during the Old Kingdom. Since then Egypt was invaded and taken over by Persians, Greeks, Syrians, and Turkish. They all claimed to be Pharoahs but they were just lying. So of course they would find the bones of those people.
That study is just another fake study. White people always want to prove that Ancient Egyptians were not African. They just hate that Africa had the first ancient civilization.

How can a study conducted by scientists, researchers, scholars, academicians, etc be fake? There's a lot going for White people; why do they need to claim Ancient Egyptians? And wasn't Mesopotamia the first human civilization?bluelovelady wrote: Thu Jul 20, 2017 10:47 pm That study is just another fake study. People have motivations and biases. There are many examples where science or what is claimed to be science is used to advance racial bigotry. Speciation in evolutionary theory teaches for example that Africans are recently developed monkeys and behind their white counterparts in the development process to being a human. Straight from the bible of atheism and you can look it up. This was considered science for many decades. They had circus events where Africans were displayed in cages for millions of visitors and bananas were thrown at them to demonstrate the monkey gene in them.
Are you white per chance? God forbid if you are of African heritage. That would be interesting.

Re: The debate about Somalis being linked to Ancient Egyptians
I can quote many so called European intellectuals from Voltaire to Emmanuel Kant straight polygenists stating humans are not related and putting Africans at the bottom. Most of these men whose philosophy and outlook of life form the basis of European Civilization believed in what is known as Polygenism which promoted the belief that Humans have different origins and are unrelated.
Many social influential work used today had their origins in racism. It is silly to assume Science is neutral therefore anyone who has a degree in something scientific is neutral and their studies are purely humanistic.
One must question everything for them to take a stance on anything.
