Why is saying Huun demonized
In some parts of Somalia? I don't see a problem saying it to like a relative or something but some people would knock their own brother out for saying huuno to them. Somalia are too cold

Re: Why is saying Huun demonized
I don't think it's demonized that's my opinion, I think it's one of those expressions that is usually used with relatives or close friends and would sound weird if used on strangers. It also can have a patronizing vibe to it so maybe that's why people don't like it and prefer to use the word walaal instead.
Re: Why is saying Huun demonized
Its a ducked up word specially if its used by none Huuno clans. It only should be used by clans that traditionally used it, some daarood like Absame and Geri Koombe, some isaaq like Jibriil Abokor and ba Gobo , gedabursi and ciise.
But a hj, hy , ciidagale and other isaaq and daarood using it in particular Hawiye is revolting.

Reer djib use huuno instead walal or aboowe/abaayo . Growing up i didnt see anything wrong with it but now i only use it when i am talking to a girl. I despise when a grown ass man says to another man. " yes lodoon i am looking at u" lol

Huuno sounds like 'honey' and one must only use it when talking to a woman. Otherwise, it sounds wrong.
