Ismail Mire was the first Somali postal officer. He run back and forth on his tiny pony delivering intelligence for the terrorist dervish. I don't think that qualifies as a heroic act to warrant a monument.

An insult to the people of Adal. His army conquered many territories in the west and expanded the somali border, they fought on religious terms against the Ethiopian crusader orthodox state/Portuguese catholics. Yet the somalis of today are in submission by the habesha.

If you wish to give him a monument, why not once you reconquer his lost territories?
