I didnt analyse the video, those four points were what stood out. Besides, extremism or terrorism are politically related terms, rather than pertaining to a single religion. That is what they have an issue with not religious identification.
Anyways, gotta run. Toodles...

Well saidInaSamaale wrote: Mon Sep 04, 2017 10:51 pm The youth raised issues of;
-Negative representation of POC in Hollywood
-Risks of stereotyping extremist characters to all Somalis
-K'naan hijacking the locals experience
-Kathyrn Brigelow's previous problematic work of Muslims
.......yet all you got at was that, they have a problem being represented as "Muslim". I think you're projecting your own insecurities tbh.
Thanks for the video, always nice to see young people stand up for what they believe in. The boy is especially well spoken.![]()

I think they refused to participate not because they were afraid that he was gonna portray them as terrorists but because they were really ashamed to be seen on a nation tv wearing muzzie attires. They are a very successful hard working people who built great businesses in the short amount of time they've been there, a true American success story but for some reason they were ashamed to show it and I think religion has something to do with it, you can deny it all you want but it has something to do with it.CigaalSHiiDaaDCFC wrote: Mon Sep 04, 2017 3:30 pm Lol@ pirates are seen as something cool in the west .. put the bottle down gaalyahow. Somalis are proud of being muslims nd they are right to be against any narrative that paints them as terrorists. What i was arguing is that someone els will make the show anyways so why not just let your brother make it. Tell him to show what most of somalis look like too. Not only the few misguided ones.

look at this dhaan dhaan lol ... if there's one thing we arnt ashamed of its our religion. somalis are actually more proud of being muslims than being somali.
