Ok thanks bro. Is he Muslim or masiiixi??
Re: General Samoora: Ethiopia's Highest Ranking General
i told the nay-sayers: before judging abiy, be patient. give it time. u cannot change a 27 year old corrupt system, over night, or even within a few weeks or months. a change is bound to come. the oromos will not tolerate anything less than being masters of their lands, as they were before menelik was armed by the white man, thus changing the balance of power, in the favor of the shoans/abyssinian elites.
oromos didn't even use their full potential yet. they are like the lion that just woke up and is now slowly getting hungry/angry.

Good luck with that mate.......just leave us Somali's out of your Ethiopian squabbles.
We've got more than enough issues on our plate already without adding Oromo's to the mix.

This man praised Menilik, how are we suppose to be “patient” with such scum? Listen, I’ll respect you as my Oromo kin, but to and say be patient with this type of troll? He’s a puppet put into place by the Woyyane, why be patient with him? He clearly has the views of his maternal half. He praises Menilik, Halie Salasie, Melez etc. how is he good for the Oromo people, or any of he other neighboring ethnicities?Waachis wrote: Sat May 12, 2018 4:13 pm i told the nay-sayers: before judging abiy, be patient. give it time. u cannot change a 27 year old corrupt system, over night, or even within a few weeks or months. a change is bound to come. the oromos will not tolerate anything less than being masters of their lands, as they were before menelik was armed by the white man, thus changing the balance of power, in the favor of the shoans/abyssinian elites.

We have no time to wait, we waited over 27 years for our rule. This man is not the one for us.

I agree, I’d rather have a neighbor who is a friend and ally over one that we’re in war with. Best we keep our borders safe and secure, and trade and do business diplomatically. No need in the none sense of Oromos killing so and so, or Somali did this to us etc.original dervish wrote: Sat May 12, 2018 4:54 pm Good luck with that mate.......just leave us Somali's out of your Ethiopian squabbles.

When did he praise Menelik? Can you post a link? I said be patient, not agree with everything he says/or does.
It is better to take the moderate path-do not expect too much, nor should you a pessimist so soon.
It's not easy to change a 27 year old corrupt system, over night, or even in a few months.
BTW-Menelik maybe bad, but let's be honest, we were fighting each other when his armies came from Shoa.
We were weak and divided. Part of the blame goes to us, as well, if we're going to be honest.
Had he not forcefully put us under one empire/or country; we may have parts of Oromia under Sudan, parts of it under Somalia, more of it under Kenya than already is, and so on, and so forth.
Ironically, he made it easier for us to free ourselves later, seeing as our lands are all under one country.
As opposed to our neighbors, like the Afars, whose land is now split among three countries, if not four.

Things obviously don’t change over night, but to let your gaurds down and accept OPDO is not a way for change. This very group was created by TPLF to replace the OLF in the TG back in the 90s. OLF did not agree or accept the way things were going, so woyyane had to birth a slave political group.
Just yesterday OPDO was enemy number one, today Oromos are happy with them leading? Knowing these people kept their mouth shut when our people were being killed and tortured. They had to ability to make things different, so why now after 27 years do they choose to change? After Oromos are fed up, TPLF grants them the freedom to act as a power house who is looking for change. They are in no way capable to bring change. They may add Oromos to higher rolls, but who is behind the doors giving the rules? Definitely not Abiy. He’s pro EPRDF, and that is no good for anyone.
I would rather some other ethnicity sitting on his seat with blood on their hands, then one of our own. We need to arm our people so they can defend against the brutal agazi soldiers that run as if they rule the country. We must take full control of our land. Having EPRDF is a cancer to the Horn of Africa. This group needs to be exiled and removed from the government.
Yeah our people fought amongst ourselves, but we were nomads. We competed for better lands and livestock. When needed, we did unite. When the Oromos were fighting the Amharas in the gojjame area, clans from eastern Oromia went to assist their brothers. It wasn’t until the Shawan Oromo agreed to join Menilik that the rest started to resent and hate other Oromos. Prior to this time, it was all competing. We would have had our own land. The highlanders has no gain until they received support from Europe. If they weren’t given the firearms, we would have had our own lands.

Well, I do not agree with him praising Menelik, nor do I like to focus on ''kings'' who have been dead for what, over 100 years by now?
OPDO of today is, at the very least, different from the ones the TPLF organized in 1989/and afterwards.
Unlike the founding members of the OPDO, these leaders were not captured on the battlefields of tigray and eritrea.
They are a bit younger, and a little less influenced by the aging, but still powerful, TPLF leaders.
Let's not pretend the OLF is innocent, they encamped most of our 50,000 army, who were begging to fight our enemies, disarmed them, and left them when they were need of leadership the most.
As far as arming our people, I'm always a fan of that, and have been yelling that for years. Africa is where the rule of the gun is supreme, nobody can deny that, unless they're lying.
Before Menelik struck that deal, we had inter-oromo warfare, even in my clan. macca and tulama, who are younger and older brothers, were fighting, for example.
When the gadaa system declined, that's when we started to take on others form of governance, i.e. kingdom of jimma, gera, gomma, etc.
For example, sahle selassie, grandfather of menelik, noticed the abichu and galan would fight, fiercely, for over 7 years, he watched... and then sided with one, to conquer the others... this was before menelik was even a sperm in his dads testicles!
and no doubt, without the white man arming the habashas, we would have been able to beat them back, as we did for 450 years.

I’m not praising OLF, they are not much of a fit organization.. The blame for the incident with no arms and 50k fighters should go to Lencho Latta, and him alone. He is a coward and traitor. He is chairman and leader of ODF, who is in talks with the current ruling government to move them to Ethiopia and out of exile. He’s always been an untrustworthy traitor. And for Abiy to have open talks with such scum speak a lot. They are both the same, waving to fit what’s best for Woyyane wallets and needs.Waachis wrote: Sun May 13, 2018 3:42 pmSt8OuttaDirree wrote: Sun May 13, 2018 2:46 pmHis acceptance speech when he was elected PM.Waachis wrote: Sun May 13, 2018 11:37 am

OLF had its glory days. I grew up in a household that was fully affiliated with the organization, but things have definitely changed throughout the years. They haven’t done much for us, and the leadership is garbage.
I don’t trust Abiy Ahmed, but we’ll just have to wait and see on what happens.

Leenco should be in an oromia jail not being negotiated with, or given a position.
I don't mind the other odf members if they don't have any history of betrayal but people like leenco cannot do much, nor are they needed.
I believe we should give abiy some time.
Our people aren't stupid. If he does not deliver he knows more protests and resistance will follow.

it's okay Khalid, it's obvious to everyone, that you're mentally slow, retarded, not all there, missing more than a few brain cells, etc.
so I/we forgive you, and overlook your bad and harsh language, for the sake of Allah. I will not stoop to your level in Ramadan. I will overlook your insults, and in exchange, for insulting me, Allah will give me some of your good deeds. Alhamdulilah, thanks akhi!
even in Ramadan, you cannot, even for the sake of Allah, control your tongue. Shaytan has true control of you.
may Allah rectify your affairs. Ameen!
