You guys are missing the elephant in the room. The FGS barely controls the capital, let alone the country.

AlShabaab reigns supreme, in much of Southern and Central Somalia.

The Qabiil Bantustan of Mrajeerteeniya and the city-state of Kisamaayo aka Jubbalandand, are outside the reach of the government Worst of all, there are thousands of western-controlled African Union Troops in Xamar!

I really think Farmaajo is biting off more than he can chew by antagonizing his western donors!

All recognize the FGS. Yes the city ‘State’ as you say, Puntland don’t but it’s inaccurate for you to say ‘only Xamar’. Furthermore AMISOM only collects a paycheck, protects diplomats nothing else.

How will Farmaajo and his cabinet react if AU troops are given a 'mandate' to return Somalia to a 'democratic path' and begin removing the FGS from office? Don't tell me this is impossible, it may very well happen.

TheGrumpyGeeljire,

No offense bro but I have a tough time answering scenarios that I don’t see plausible in the slightest. I don’t know where to start. For one AMISOM cannot come across as occupiers. In order to ‘move FGS’ from office they would need to disarm, disband SNA, Haramcad, GORGOR, and probably forcibly. I don’t even think they could do that feasibly. These Somali forces in Xamar are
From Xamar. No Burundi’s, Ugandans, etc could try something like that without immediately starting a city rebellion, which in the long run makes Farmaajo even more than popular. Besides the purpose of AMISOM was capacity building not breaking down starting from scratch. Did you even factor in if Turkey would allow this? Again don’t know where to start. No Please be macquul for the love of God.
