but serioulsy that nine your old girls joke is offensive. The quran asks that a believing woman must consent to marriage to be halal. I have 2 kids and at nine, no kid can consent to anything. I have huge problem with that contradiction, either we agree that the prophet's sunnah was meant to be followed and therefore withstand all cultural and societal change of time or We assume that he was a man of his time,and his sunnah therefore cannot apply to us. in this case we intrepret Islam accordiing to the Quran. I will take the latter and say that the Quran asks that a person consent and at nine years, there can be no halal consent, and thus all evidence claiming the prophet married a nine year old is just Pure insult to me as muslim and to a prophet who was to be an example from God to all people till judgement day.

How will we answer to Allah, if we are accepting all bulshit that blossomed from islamaphoebes and lies made by those who wanted to distort the prophet's image incorpated after he died. The Prophet practiced the best humanist and proper conduct that little fault was ever found in him. All the hadiths chronicling child marriages, slaves ownership and war prisoners is an isult to all muslims, and not only that we are idiots for even attributing such nonesense to anything from Allah's corner. Allah only has one book!!, islam has one book, the Quran, it needs no intrepretation nor clarification. It is simple, and its broad context avoiding little tedious detail is significant to withstand all time and all culture. Islam is not meant to be stuck in one time period of the past, that is what these sheikhs and their hadiths are doing, islam is the Quran, Conduct yoursleves by the quran and that is all Allah asks of you. there is no complication, no confusion of sects, and this following and that following. at the end of the day, i ask that you all refrain from insulting the good prophet's name. None have evidence to conclude that he lived his life as recorded by passing strangers and ambitious research by men who never even knew him. Let us bring reason and objectivity into islam, we are not fools, let us not become victims of history's most ambitious collectors and collaborators like our fellow Christain brothers have done. We have no way of knowing their belief status, and so how can we so quick to swallow. Allah commands us to think, our higher congitive ability seperates us from the rest of the animal world. Let us think as muslims.

Please be more considerate of what you're insinuating. Islam is not responsible for the perverts and sickos that join its ranks. It is unfortunate that great, but ultimately false, religion attracts depraved individuals. You're going too far when you hint that Islam uniquely attracts the bad of the bad punch, partly true but other religions attract equally reprehensible reprobates. Lets be fair and considerate.

qudac, we have no evidence that she was nine indeed. folk tales may have confused history, she might have 15 or something but not nine. the quran is very clear about a woman's consent, i hardly doubt the prophet would marry a nine year old girl, and say things about having the women's consent in a marriage agreement.
