Chief Administrator of the Somali State noted that the main goal of the war of terror declared on Ethiopia by extremists organized under the umbrella of the so called Union of Islamic Courts (UIC) is the fulfillment of the anti-peace mission of Shaebia, the ruling party in Eritrea.

Abdulahi Hassen told WIC Wednesday that the acts of terror being carried out by OLF, Al-Ithad, ONLF, and al-Qaeda were hatched out up Shaebia to destabilize the Horn of Africa.

The Somali State government and the people of Ethiopia would closely follow the movements of the extremists that have conspired with Shaebia to obstruct the peace, development and good governance realization efforts underway in the country as it is against the interests of both the people of Somali State and Ethiopia.

According to Abdulahi, there are ample evidences which prove that the government of Eritrea has been training and arming terrorists and extremists to undermine peace in the Horn.

He also called on the Ethiopian Government to closely scrutinize the issue as the atmosphere of terrorism and extremism in the area stands contrary to the sovereignty and national rights and interests of the country.

The transitional government that has won the recognition of the African Union and international community should be given support so as to contain terrorism and extremism which are threats to Ethiopia, other neighbouring countries and the international community at large, the Chief Administrator underlined.

The Somali State Supreme Shariah Court and the State Islamic Affairs Office have also said the terrorist group that operates under the cover of the Union of Islamic Courts (UIC) is not only the source of instability and concern to Ethiopians alone but also to citizens of Somalia.

Supreme Court President Sherif Mohammed Sherif Abdiziad told WIC that the group is not only rejecting the Transitional Government of Somalia recognized by IGAD and the international community, but is also a mercenary group trying to impose the desires of foreign forces aspiring to destabilize the Horn of Africa.

The president said the vile acts of the extremist group Al-Ithad and its sponsor Shaebia, the ruling party in Eritrea, to disrupt peace and stability in Ethiopia is totally unacceptable.

There could be Islamic or regular courts in a country with a constitution, depending on the objective reality of the country, he said, adding that forming a government under the guise of Islamic court and declaring war on peace-loving neighbours is however inappropriate and un-Islamic act.

Judges of the Supreme Shariah Court, Sheikh Ahmed Habene Umer and Sheikh Nedir Siednur, condemned the misguided Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF), Al-Ithad and other oppositions who conspired with Shaebia to destabilize the region.

They said Ethiopians, and their brothers in Somalia need to condemn the extremists that force people who challenge their views, including Muslims, as they are hiding under religious mask and standing against the freedom of belief enshrined in the constitution.

The judges said the people in the state have been getting justice through Shariah courts established in 52 woredas in addition to the regular courts. More than 300 Shariah court judges are currently serving freely the public in the state, they added.
