Begging is my income
Ignorance is my partner

The Diin is for debate
In which I get to win
Hope is a no-way chance
Separation is my focus
Distraction I hope for
Hatred, and only hatred
Is what I have for my country
Patriotism is an ailment
Unity is like a disease
Of which I have to detest
Because I am Somali
And I worship Qabiil!

since everything on this list is accurate, can we go lower than this? i think we already hit rock bottom!
It seems that it's getting worse by the day so I wont be shocked if we go lower than where we're now.

You can have hopes & wishes but this is never ending stupidity and I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel.

My people and my nation, I am sorry!

We are coming back strong, barakaboy don't count us out yet just like those before us who fell but got back up on their feet again. I am a Rastafarian and people ask me when I will cut my hair short like everyone and I tell them I am waiting that day when we become a true nation again and I know that day is coming soon because I had a dream about it and all my dreams come true.

I have no doubt Somalia will rise up again and reclaim its promise and the rasta will be gone before I die and we will go and live like kings and queens like those before us and out of this long political darkness a brighter day will come allah willing.

^^ Insha Allah, brother. There is no one who wishes that to happen ASAP than myself but our current plight, the real reasons that rendered us into situation more than 2 decades and how fragmented & the least patriotic, the most disunited people on earth we are make me feel the way I feel now.

Ya akh, just hoping, dreaming and wishing wont change a jack. Action makes difference. And to have the cause that creates the action, people have to have the key ingredients: a general sense of nationhood, unity, loyalty for the nation, love for one another ilaa aakhirihi. We have none of that!

I can blabber & lament about this forever but only my depression will get worse so I better leave it with these words from the greatest patriotic, poet, pacifist and Somali lover we've ever had, C/llaahi Suldaan Tima-cadde (AUN):

Dadkaan la hadlayaa baan lahayn, dux iyo iimaane
Bal inay dalfoof tahay caqliga, dooni laga saaray
Wixii hore u soo daashaday, degashanaysaaye
Doc hadday u wada jeedsatooy, dhowrto danaheeda
Ooy duul walaala ah tahooy, duunka ka heshiiso
Dadka kama yaraateene ways, dabar jaraysaaye

Dubba madaxa wayskala dhacdaa, daa’in abidkiise
Goortay is wada dooxatay baa, daad u soo geliye

Ubadkiinii waad daadiseen, waana dubateene
Dubaaxdiisii waad wada cunteen, duhur dharaareede
Dariiq toosan Soomaaliyey, waa lagaa dedaye
Darajada Ilaahay ninkii, doonayaa hela e

Nin ka duday distoorkiyo waxyiga, diinti ka carrowye
Dugsi maleh qabyaaladi waxay, dumiso mooyaane

Sadly, he wrote that poem in the beginning of the 20th century and it seems as if he's talking about our current state 'cause we didn't change a little bit. :(

Somalinimo, or Somali nationalism - is both xaaraam and destructive. We should all be happy that the cancerous idea has been laid to rest.

I'm more optimistic for Somalia now than I was 10 years ago....mainly because I think there's been an evolution, in the political sense at least. There are more ideologies present and more open debate. There's also more Somali media present and changes in technology mean there will be a change for the better in Somalia. It will take longer to change Somali society and improve the economy but it is not completely hopeless....you can already see changes taking place.

Is it the end of Somalinimo? No, I think there will always be Somalinimo because that is the foundation of Somalia....without some belief in Somalinimo, there really isn't Somalia since we're all really a bunch of nomadic clans who've never really created a state or any civilisation to speak of.

So, since I can't change the fact that I am Somali, my conscious mind won't allow me to lose all hope in Somalinimo and Somalia.

No, shame on you. Your uncles burned down the country, not mine. And you continue to support them. Shame on you. Screaming "Somalinimo" doesn't make you a concerned citizen.

Im afraid to say Somalia is finished, every sub sub sub sub clan could given it's tiny land and even then they will inter-fight.

Only the Caliphate can cure Somalia from its disease, May Allah give us a state that will defend us soon.
