you don't have to study overseas to be a sheikh, there was 1 islamic uni is somalia during siad bare government, however siad barre used to sent students to islamic countries so that they can study for free to become culuma, all these big sheikhs today all became sheikhs because of siad barre sending them for islamic education. dahir aweys never attended the islamic school in xamar, apart from going to dugsi at young age and u can't become a sheikh or culama just by going to dugsi. dahir aweys brother was sent though to saudi. but dahir aweys was just a soldier forever and still is todaymelo wrote:How come you caught me on my bluff.. shid lol. Somali civil war was a foreign engineered one, and it still is. Until Somalis see this menace in our midst, we will remain people who always blaming the other clan and its factional leader. Both manifesto and factions were guided by the foreign entities. Both of them wanted to get power and neither one of them wanted to back down. This where the paroblems started. Winner takes all attitude is what contributed to the endless civil war.
The question is what can we learn from this mayhem? May be accepting that we are not going to get what our ego is telling us is the best way forward.
