As for that statement,if in fact he did say it.It could easily be a slip of the tongue
When a person is only used to sending condolences to a Muslim person all his life
His train of thought is on auto pilot so his tongue will automatically convey the usual Islamic condolence considered proper in such situations.Obviously no Muslim will utter that phrase in relation to a gaal
