Sxb, there is difference between sneaking into Hargeisa in 1988 and actually capturing it. The latter happened after usc savages entered xamar, and the regime was forced to flee.
Brother iam not insulting you, si islaamtinimo ila hadal. Iam saying you must bring evidence that snm terrorists were succesfull before usc savages entered the war.

The end of the 1988 SNM war in Burao

In Burao too where they staged fiercely fought battles, SNM fighters were
eventually dislodged from the city. On 15th August 1988 in a concerted effort the
fighters who attacked Burao and Hargeisa left the cities and the northern territory
altogether. They went back to Ethiopia to fight another day.4
In subsequent
installments we shall visit in detail other dimensions of the events which took
place in both the 1988 war and the second SNM war in 1991 which saw the
declaration of the secession of the north from the rest of Somalia.5

The end of the war in Hargeisa

In Hargeisa, in mid June 1988 when the SNM bombardment and shelling
intensified it forced the hand of the military authorities headed by General
Mohamed Ali Samater. The authorities had to abandon any hope it had to isolate 7 The night SNM fighters came to Hargeisa

and cut off the SNM fighters. The war continued for few more weeks. However, in
its fifth week, the fighters were eventually dislodged from the city. They did not go
far. They moved to the outskirts where they began to regroup around Geed
Deeble, an area known for its source of the water supply of Hargeisa.3

Undaunted SNM fighters dug in around Geed Deeble where they conducted
fiercely fought battles which continued for over a month after which they got out
from their positions and retreated back to Ethiopia to fight another day.

:meles: there goes the wild dream of yusuf that snm irhaabis captured hargeisa in 1988
88 offensive was big failure sxb.

Your source is Wardheernews aka Faqashnews.

Other than that, I'm going to let theyuusuf143 handle this discussion.

Warya ahlufagot why did your uncle free these secessionists?
. Barre’s collapse followed shortly after the rise of the SPM, but it was more directly linked to the emergence of the Hawiye-based United Somali Congress (USC).
How come somali naago movement are not mentioned? :damn:

I dont know what religion you follow, but my religion forbids insults.
Anyways back to your post. Very interesting detail. You see as much as i hate spm , usc and any other poisonous group i cannot deny facts. Yes the regime collapsed after usc waged war on the somali government. After that , usc savages killed and raped people in mosques.
SPM did the same.

But how come snm only captured hargeisa after the war was over? Did they lack strength. Iam watching now war videos from 88 till 91. There is some weakness on their part.

Because they were not strong enough. They waited until everything was over and then celebrate some imaginary date that they supposedly freed "themselves" from the regime.

You being a low IQ autistic Cagdheer should bury you head in shame when the word freedom spoken. You have been in servitude for 100 years.

This was you 100 years ago

"Sheikh Sufi states - The Abysinians read, "Ethiopians" are always on one side of us, the English on the other. We (Ogaden tribes) are with the English, and we wish for English rule. We are your children. I say that, as a sheep quivers under the blow of a knife, we, the Ogaden, are quivering under the oppressions of the Abysinians, who have every year, for the last nine years, visited us and levied large numbers of sheep, goats, horse, camels and taken what they liked from us. We have no guns
and are not powerful enough to fight and must submit. Last season the Abysinians (drove) off all livestock; 990 men, women and children perished. We are Mullahs and we like to tell the truth."17

This is you 100 years later....

The SNM was the only Rebel movement fighting from 1981 up to 1991, it had 2/3 of the army of the Somali army stationed in Somaliland ,

The ogadens why did they even fight the darood government the ogaden made a terrible mistake they focused on Kismayo and SPM while the EPLF and TPLF made secret deals inside their bunkers , which led ONLF being tricked by Meles zenawi if Ogadens fought Mengistu instead of afweyne they would be some where today but miscalculation why on earth did you darood fight your own darood government even if afweyne sold you to mengistu to get back at SNM you should have sticked with him now he lost you lost the Hawiye and isaaq won. I never understood the Ogaden motive in all of this

SNM laid a siege on the major cities in Somaliland in 1988 this was the beginning of the end, the mass defection of the army the army being destroyed from with in , because the army was based in Somaliland , the south had it very easy, all the Hawiye had to do is store their weapons,, the heavy fighting the sacrifice the bombardments

1989
The SNM forces, within hours the SNM forces destroyed the government forces near the border and by early morning had captured the main government garrisons in Hargeisa, Baurao and Adadley. The government forces fled in disarray.

The Weekly review
, Issues 945-970
The SNM also maintained a small fleet of armed speed boats that operated from Maydh, fifty kilometers northwest of Erigavo, and Xiis, a little west of Maydh. Small arms included 120mm mortars and various assault rifles, such as AK-47s, M-16s, and G-3s.
Radio SNM reported that two MiG-19s then attacked the port where the ship was being held and one was shot down. In the central region the SNM claimed to have killed 85 government soldiers and burnt out five vehicles in an attack on.

1990, Country report:
Uganda, Ethiopia, Somalia, Djibout iEconomist Intelligence Unit (Great Britain).

SNM was the most disciplined rebel movement that succeeded in the horn of Africa from Hijacking ships planes and destroying Afweyne 1988 all out war on afweyne and his Somalia was the right move because this has weakened if SNM did not attack afweyne strongholds in Somaliland in 1988 afweyne would rule Somalia and Somaliland for another 10 years.

Gacanyaraha Suldaan, Iam not denying that snm terrorists did take part of the fighting. Iam saying there is no historical proof that snm terrorists captured hargeisa before usc did what they did. The fact is without usc animals and spm unthankful ones snm would still be fighting on today.
