Padiash, I love all my Somali brothers and sisters. I think we should start, by everybody forgiving each other. I forgive Majerten and Hawiye for anything they may have done to my clan. Hows that for a start?

This is an example of what Ismahan means:
To all on SomaliNet and the general Somali body politic, Padishah officially apologises for the unwholesome actions of Beesha Majeerteen since Independence.
Padishah seeks forgiveness for the culture of corruption prevalent in the Democratic Era, to which Majeerteen contributed. This action contributed to the poor performance of the democratic government, and the subsequent revolution.
Padishah, in hindsight, seeks forgiveness for the misquided rebellion of the SSDF, and their contribution to the disintergration of Somalia.
Padishah seeks forgiveness for the current carnage in Somalia, in which Majeerteens are quite well represented.
Padishah seeks forgiveness for the wrongs that Majeerteen have been inflicted on innocents during the clan wars after the fall of the Governmen, and any subequent wrongs up until today.
Whose next?

^ Please speak for yourself.
Siade barre is responsible for the disintegration of Somalia with his corrupt policies and nepotism, without that their would be no need for rebellion.
And as for the "current carnage", that blame goes straight to the trouble makers and wahhabis in Mogadishu who will do anything to bring back the chaos and instability.

Ican:
We can place blame for the disintergration of the Somali Republic in many different places, and I do agree that the excesses of the regime played a part. However, Abdullahi Yusuf and his fellow Officers started the ball rolling with the first rebel movement. If those Officers were to know the ultimate fate of the rebel movements in carving up and destroying the political writ of government in Somalia, I'm sure they would have refrained from beginning the SSDF. If then, another group took it upon itself to remove the regime, without the example of the SSDF, then we are absolved of any blame.
As for the current carnage, I can understand going after the Wahhabi's, and ending them once and for all. Heck, I'm on that particular bandwagon. However, this does not justify the high human cost of such an engagement, and the almost giddy reception the TFG has had for a Tigre invasion of our country. Whether we like it or not, Abdullahi Yusuf, as President, is responsible for the conduct of the TFG, which makes him responsible for every innocent life taken.
Relating back to clan relationships, we as a clan are responsible, to a degree, for the parts our kinsmen have played in these situations. Hence, the apology.

The Siad government regime from the beginning was only interested in staying in power and silencing dissenters, so it was only a matter of time before someone started a rebel group, the fact that it was SSDF were the first is irrelevant. The policies of said government and the fact that it was dictatorship is the reason for the disintegration.
You just have to look at current problems in Kismayo, there was no Marehan in the city before the Siade government. And now the whole city's demographics have changed because the government facilitated and favored Gedo migrants in the region. How were the traditional inhabitants suppose to react to this flagrant favoritism and loss of land? This was the reason the Ogaden joined the USC against the government.
As for what's happening in Mogadishu, I don't like the Ethiopian presence and I don't like the civilian deaths but what exactly is the alternative? They are there, they were gonna be there as soon as those crazy UIC started threatening regions and countries. We have to deal with it, and see if this government can actualize their agenda. They haven't been given a chance to do anything. Hopefully if the AU get's it act together, we can get more African troops and the Ethiopians will leave.
Still, I find it odd that you're looking everywhere except at the Barre regime to blame the disintegration of the country, but when it comes to current affairs, Abdullahi Yusuf is solely responsible?
All that being said, I don't blame any particular clan for anything. We're all in this together.

I do not look everywhere for the disintergration of the country Ican. On the contrary, I place it firmly within the bounds of a 'Liberation' movement that went from getting rid of a dictatorship to descending into the barbarity we saw for the last 16 years, or dismembering a part of the country from the whole. `
Yes, Mohammed Siad Barre and his government gave these groups every reason to go rebel during the period after the 1977 Ethiopian war. One expects 'rebels' to come out of the woodwork during dictatorships. However, and this distinction is crucial, Siad Barre had absolutely nothing directly to do with the following disintegration of the country along clan lines represented by those rebel movements.
One good thing you've pointed out is this double standard I've somehow developed in relation to Abdullahi Yusuf. I hold him responsible for carnage better pinned on the Ethiopians who rightly deserve this accolade.
I just realised how much cuqdad I have against Abdullahi Yusuf.

Padisah,
Well put.
I ask for the forgiveness for Beesha Sacad's role in getting too much revenge for the injustices committed against us by Siyaad Barre and our Darood neighbors in Mudug. Sorry for the creation of a Hawiye movement, a Elaay movement, emanicipation of the minorities & their subsequent demands for their fair share of power. We should have placed more focus on peacemaking with the Darood instead of trying to promote Hawiye supremacy.
I only wish Siyaad Barre had left power in 1986 after his accident so that there would have been no need for Caydiid (AUN).
