Instead of whailing why not either accept what idaajaa is or bring a decent defence for him. I always make threads on Daarood facists and their manufactured myth to educate the young somalis.

Idaajaa waa doofar aan abidkii daahireyn.
The xaaraami claims sheikh Cali Majeerteen was not only the first Somali to visit hajj but allegedly the first black man totally dismissing Mansa Musa I of Mali who went to hajj in 13th century. The sheikh was also born in 1870's and that time Somalis were already traveling due to the coastal trade. They were even traveling way before that to remote places such as New York, hajj would be nothing in comparison. My own relatives lived in Egypt in Cairo during late 1800's and one of their houses is still standing. He's trying to use the success of sheikh Cali Majerteen in a clannish attempt to rewrite history but he's only damaging that mans legacy and dragging it through the mud.

I know all the 20th century one but none of the 19th. I have some studying to do.
Idaajaa"s history is definitely one sided but thats what he knows best.
The Somalis used to say, at times, that you are born poets or born good farmers, and of these, their poets, dead, pass on the songs and remember the names.Of course, each region has its own, and I would have to say every tribe, and they rarely pride of poetic pre-eminence. burst contention and long civil wars.
You could say that Webi, marking the boundary between two different Somali immigration, that of the 'Indian Ocean' back perhaps more than half a millennium, and the other from the Gulf of Aden, which has almost 'a couple of centuries less demarcates as well, if not two kinds of poetry, some of the same two periods.
So from Benadir, between the Juba and the Webi, there are still songs and epic narratives, and beyond that, the story, the love song, the fable is a field in which to exercise their gabbaj (gabay).
The best of these bards are 'encountered between the Merehan and the' Ogaden plateau where I could glean more. It is celebrated the memory of ROGHE Ugaz (Ogaden) he apparently was not only a good poet, but a brave soldier, because he died fighting, about ten years ago.
Aden Achmed Dubba of Isaak, Habr-Junis tribes, still lives, although so old at Meth and is known under the name of Gabbaj hogg, ie " strong poet". " In his youth he sings of the great aroused envy among Raghe Ugaz, and, not infrequently, bloody wars and irreconcilable enmity. If this man represents the setting sun, Hassan Dallab, of the tribes of Isaak, as well of Daher of the Ogaden are two beautiful auroras, since, still young, they already have fame of singers alike. Mohamed Liban Giader left while the reputation of good improviser , he died three years ago in his full force. And Tacio of others that would take too long to enumerate.
Signore Rabcci 1891 , page 356-357
There you have it the greatest poets of the mid and late 19 century, Muxumed Liibaan Jadeer died in 1889 , Raage Ugaas killed around 1881 , Gabay-Xoog lived a long life almost passed the 90's , he died around 1913 and Xasan Dalab lived till the 1920s , the Ogaadeen Daahir i couldn't not as of yet locate his full name or historty. This is one of Muxumed liibaan's Jadeer from the 1870's , after a raid where half of his companion were killed he lament their death despite the victory of the raid. This particular poem is also claimed by Raage Ugaas fans , but in all evidence its Jadeer's.
Haddaan ooyo dumarkaan arkoo wax uma aabayso
Haddaan aamusnaadana qalbigu, ii askummi maayo
Haddaan igadhyo maalana anfaco, ku il samaan maayo
Haddaan ilaxidh seexdana hurdada, aad u ladi maayo.
Inta badan alleylkoo badh tegey alalad bay dhaafsha
Haddaan timaha oogtaa ka dhigo, adari boodh seexdo
Haddan Eegi dheer fuulo aan, ololo oon reemo
Oon uubateeyana raggii, iigu iman maayo.
Agab ba’ay aleeladaan jid marin, agabar jaan guura
Ardaal nacas ah naaguhuba, wayska ogolaadaane
Aakhiro ragii tagay haddaan, Eebe ka aqoodo
Haddii uun la dayn Nabiyadii, lama idleeyeene
Ina adhi jireed iyo mid aan, habartii awr loogin
Saw waxaan ilaawaba mid xumi, ima ogeysiiyo
It seems the the 19 century Mareexaans were more honest then todays Daarood Kacaans and Idaajaa, Signore Robecci got most of his poetry information from the Mareexaan and out of 5 men mentioned majority were Isaaqs. Yet all that history was overthrown in the 1970s and 1980s and through intensive state sponsorship of Daarood poets like Raage Ugaas even naming an entire school after him all Isaaq great poet were written off history within less then 20 years.

Where is the link? It is a littlw hard to believe what you bring considering you just put words in an article Sheila Andrejewski wrote when she didn't even mention Shire Jama. You said she wrote Shire stole...when she didn't even mention the man and when the reason she is important, her husband co-wrote a UNDP aricle in 1966 saying Shire has the best orthography even in comparison to Muuse Galaal.
Btw I do know that Robecci did really get taken with the Marehan and lived among them and document a lot of their sources. For example, Idaajaa waa nin adeerkay ah, both of us are reer Siyaad Diini Ugaas. He painted by hand the reer Siyaad going to war against Habar Gidir to their south

With all the evidence presented, I hope by now you have given up the deluded idea that Shire Jamac single-handedly created the current Somali writing system.
