Bruh, the Muslim West Africans love somali women.

To be honest I'd much rather have them marry African Muslims than cadaan reverts or Arabs who will treat them like dirt. Muslim West Africans put them on a pedestal and appreciate them in most cases.

I totally agree and I have made this same point over and over in this thread. There are some deeper, underlying issues that need to be fixed. This is just a manifestation of a much bigger problem.

The question is: how do we go about fixing it on a practical level? What can we do to change the mindset of our youth? We can't lose the next generation too.

According to some Somali women - who married ajnabi - they were hurt and betrayed by Somali men whom they've had relationships with to the point where they don't want to deal with Somali men again. Allah knows the truth, but that is what those women claim.

I am a believer that we're dealing with the challenges of having and raising children in the diaspora. And we, both men and women, have our own shortcomings, and it is better that they're deal with on an individual and a family level.

Folks, remember that reverts are fellow Muslims, and they've given us some of the best Islamic scholars, such as Sheikh Yusuf Estes, Sheikh Dr Bilal Philips, and many others. In my town, there used to be a new revert who was a Caucasian male. He was married to a Muslima who was a white revert herself as well. Since the Somalis are the largest Muslim community in Columbus, Ohio, he was associating with us majority of the time. He used to dress the Somali macawis, and was making effort to be part of the Somali Muslim community. I have seen other Muslim reverts who consistently go to young Somali men who were in the gangs. Many of these reverts reminded them that they need to come back to the deen and stop embracing that rotten gang lifestyle. Some of them used to tell us that before we call the non-Muslims to Islam, first we have to make an effort of saving our own, especially young men and women who were at risk. Maasha'Allah, when you see the heart of these reverts, it will remind you the early days of Islam!

I would advise the Somalis in this forum and others who will be reading this thread, we should not always talk about it, since the constant threads dedicated to them show jealousy -- and jealousy is a sign of weakness. Second, if these Somali Muslim sisters are marrying good Muslim brothers from other communities, we should say Alxamdulillaah, since these are halalmarriages. However, parents and religious scholars should warn them about marrying men that they know nothing about - in particular ex-convicts who just got out of the prison system.

Let us not kid of ourselves though, a Muslim revert is our brother and sister in faith and will always be closer to us than those who have left the fold of Islam. Takbiir. Allahu Akbar!
