Twisted Logic,
Sadeboi was very wrong to call Shareef a murtad, however in Your part You are failing to see the double standard Shareef used/uses.
I heard and saw Him say in 2006 "whoever works with a gaal is a gaal" and I saw Him make takfir type statements about the TFG then, so He did use a double standard.

The reality of 2006 is starkly different than the realities of today. On both accounts, Sharif was on the right side.Murax wrote:Twisted Logic,

Murax, you can read over everything, I never called sharif of anyone a murtad on this topic. The only time I utter "infidel" was towards Abdiwahab in a topic he purposely repeated the same shirk, and I said just "infidel" out his stubborness and then waad tobadkeeney for any dhambi I might have gotten in from Allah. Twisted-logic is confused and fearful of God knows what, and it leads him to great misunderstanding and selective reading on his part. He even said I called him a murtad, which I never have.
Twisted, to simple answer you're suspesion of tribal play, if Murax was a Gaal and you a Muslim (hypothetically), you would be more my brother and I would help you.

Let me some points here.
If Sharif did indeed call others Murtad, then this is uncalled for and underlines the consequences that can happen when emotions mix with religion and politics. However, at that time, the enemy here was the Ethiopian troops, which Sharif successfully forced to withdraw through diplomacy; one can’t compare the Ethiopian troops with the AMISOM troops. Ethiopia is our neighbor and we have very turbulent relations throughout the histories of our two people and hence Ethiopia does have a very real and specific strategic interests viz-a-viz Somalia. Its presence in Somalia has agitated and rightly so majority of the Somali people and this was evinced by the strong anti-Ethiopian attacks which were waged against it. AMISOM on the other hand has no specific strategic interest in Somalia except to attenuate the spread of religious radicalism in the East African Region. Majority of the Somali people don’t oppose their presence and are today the only credible bulwark that stands against Al Shabab/Al Qaida’s total takeover of Somalia. It also operates countless hospitals and administers the distribution of aid and other humanitarian assistance. Simply put, it is a force of good and doesn’t compare with the Ethiopian presence and Sharif is justified in drawing the distinction between the 2.
In my understanding the main problem with the fight against Ethiopia in Somalia was the fact that the war was translated as a religious war and the rhetoric was very divisive and contentious. This antagonistic rhetoric and the skewing of the discourse along a more religious line have had some very bad consequences for Somalia. This ensured the energizing and excitement of the public and the recruitment for Al Shabab which saw its numbers grow explosively.
This whole thing could have been avoided if the war was waged as a nationalist war and patriotism was used as weapon of recruitment instead of the religion. Ethiopia itself has substantially more Muslims than Somalia. This whole episode shows the problems that can come about when religion is politicized.
