Richard Burton's book is not so kind to Daarood, Hawiye , Gadabuursi and part of Isaaq. I think that tells you who was feeding him these poisonous stories.

Sir Richard Burton noted his book

"[b]....hence his name Tarud ([Arabic]) or Darud, the Rejected.....the popular belief is that the founder of the eastward or windward tribes, now extending over the seaboard from Bunder Jedid to Ras Hafun, and southward from the sea to the Webbes14, was a man of ignoble origin." [/b]

This book insults almost all Somalis except afew. How can you take this seriously when the book contains such an obvious blunder. It is clear that his Abaans told him bad stories about other tribes and boosted "nobility" of their own kind to claim the Abaanship.

Sheikh Isxaaq was a noble man and only married women of his standard. The name Xanifa, eventhough it is a beautiful Moslem name, is not the real name of the mother of Imraan, Maxamed, Ibraahim and Axmed. He married her in Harar and belongs to the people of Harar who welcomed him in their marvelous city with open arms.

Her eldest son was Axmed (also known as TOLJECLE) and before the Sheikh died he appointed him to be his successor of the Isxaaq family. Axmed's offspring ruled Isaaqs for 3 centuries and liberated a vast land, that includes Berbera & Bullaxaar, from Galla tribes. The last king of Toljecla was killed near jigjiga.

I have Dubbe Cali Yare's "TUhfatul Mushtaq Li Nasabi Seyid Ishaq" book and it reads

The book mentions nothing about Abuu Xaniifa or his daughter Haniifa being nothing but a noble bunch!


One funny line about the story of Hanifa in Mr burton's book is this "....by Magaden, a free woman, he had Gerhajis, Awal, and Arab; and by a slave or slaves, Jailah, Sambur, and Rambad."

kkkkkkkkkk First of All the name "Jailah" came from Toljeclo ( Axmed Sh Isxaaq's offspring). How could a woman give birth to her great grand father is a news to me!!!
