To you, "abomination" includes paedophilia and male rape, two instances I believe most rational people can agree are abominable and which virtually all human societies criminalize.I couldn't agree more.

But your definition also includes homosexual physical lovemaking, which is a different critter altogether. I have known loving gay couples, both in San Diego and here in the Bay Area, who have been together more than 25 years. These are not prison relationships. There is no raping going on. They are together because they want to be together. The couple in San Diego successfully raised the daughter of one of the men, who did not want to live with her mother.

The reality is that more and more homosexual couples are raising children, and those children, as well as the couple themselves, need the protections of marriage. I do support the protections, but fail to see that makes either me or Mad Mac a champion of "Abomination".

To Muslims, the sin of Sodom was homosexuality. To Christians and Jews it was male rape for purposes of intimidation, an extreme version of inhospitality. The Christians are starting to differentiate between homosexuality and rape. The more conservative interpretation is starting even to look bigoted.
