In the ICU war, Abdi Qeybdiid blew out half of that market. Did more damage to it than the Ethiopians could ever do.
Much as I wouldn't put it past Qeybdiid to blow up Bakara, him being a dumb thug, I think this is just more BS from DS.
James Dahl,
The 'Specific' builders of the Amal building, if given total access to all of Mogadishu, would've turned the entire city into a pot of gold, shame isn't it.
All Somalis have built good things when given funds. Imagine what could have been accomplished with the piles of cash the US is sending to Ethiopia every month if those cheques went to reconstruction instead. Easily $200 million.

Reconstruction $$$ for Somalia

Bombing the crap out of Somalia

Actually I spoke to Xamar a little while ago. This was yet another deliberate move my Abdullahi Yusuf to destroy the wealth of Habar Gidir in Xamar. First it was the fake money from Puntland upsetting the Xamar economy, than it was the Puntland soldiers bullying of the shop owners backed by Mohamed Dhere gangs in Bakarah, then the shelling of the market and now the burning. Abdullahi Yusuf does not want any money going to weapons purchasing for a resistance. I was just told that most Habar Gidir businessmen have wisely cashed out months ago and relocated to other places. Right now the only thriving market in Xamar is the Abgal market Suuq bacad dominated by Wacaysle a good business clan.

Why would they co share with hawiye when they kicked Cusmaan Maxamuds out of the business?
This is how they protect there business

The insurgents did it. You know they will do whatever it takes to disrupt the peace and harmony the TFG strives to restore.

if anything the fire did them a favor, they can rebuild better sh!t
tell me one equavelent market in somalia today --that is made a movie about or that bring in the money that Bakara brings in --its the future Wal-street --becuz even though the rest of the Markets went with Somalia destruction --Bakara market is still thriving and surviving. The Wal-street of New York started like that in 1800s --it was an open market where everything was sold, so the similarities.
Read and learn about Barkara Market

James, the United States is still not convinced that it can culturally influence Somalis with its soft power. Somehow, the west have spiritual and cultural connection to Ethiopia Have you seen the classic movie Casbalanca? The leading actor Humphrey Bogart has a major casino in the heart of Casbalanca. He is originally from New York but while he was in France, the Nazi war escalated and Paris was invaded. He fled to Casbalance and then managed to open a casino, where European refugees come together to have fun and meet rogue traders who arrange for them illegally obtained travel visas to the United States. Mr. Bogart is therefore greeted with great respect for his past records. They would come to him and say, "You run guns to Ethiopia and faught fascism in Italy" This is repeated over and over a way to get his support for obtaining U.S visas.
I was wondering why Ethiopia's history is held with high steem by the west. Even African Americans consider it as the spiritual motherland.
I guess it is we Somalis alone who hate Ethiopia.
