Hawiye people have been exemplary citizens who have waited till the last moment to give the dictatorship every chance to step down peacefully. This only testifes of one thing: The sincereness of the Kacdoon of Xamar people. Sheer thrust for freedom, security and hate towards the ones that destroyed Somalia were the main reasons behind the Kacdoonka 1991.

When we look back at the opposition movements in Somalia, we can see that the first group to revolt was the Northeastern group.

After 1977, they tried 2 coups against a legitimate (at that time) government. They even went further then this, and invaded Somalia with Ethiopian army. This is pure High Treason, no excuse for this...yet you say: ''Majerten la garay oo talaan isku qabsanay''.


Isaaq people had a legitimate reason to oppose the oppressive dictatorship after seeing how the state apparatus was turned into a clan alliance (MOD). Their cause was even further strengthened when the dictator used the Somali army and South African mercenaries against the civilians.

As for Hawiye people, I must say that they have waited till last moment, in this way giving the dictator every chance to step down peacefully.

After witnessing how the oppressive dictatorship of Barre turned the state apparatus first into a clan alliance system then a family entreprise, and after witnessing how this regime brought Somalia to its knees on every aspect, be it economically, socially, militarily, and politically. And after witnessing how this shameless regime used the institution to protect Somalia and its people against poor civilians in the North and Central Somalia...and after witnessing the fact that the dictatorship declared that he would only leave by the gun....was the moment when the people decided to stand up against dictatorship.
