dude John Kerry lost the campaign because he was a weak candidate who run a lackluster campaign. People don't vote for the vice president.
Edwards did not hurt Kerry's campaign. Kerry hurt Kerry's campaign after he failed to respond effectively when he was "swift-boated". I think Edwards has the best chance to win the general election, against any of the Republicans this time around.
