[quote="Mystic_Angel"]Whenever I leave a somali friend, specially southerners or relative' house dropping by their house, they always say 'Next time come and stay with us'.sodhawow and et

Recently I was told they don't mean it literally and it's just a way of saying goodbye. Can someone please confirm if this is true?
And when they make very specific invites for you to come and stay with them by mentioning dates and durations, are they serious about that or are they again just saying it out of politeness?
I keep getting such comments which I'm afraid to say no to, but afraid to say yes to as well. Is there any rule of thumb for telling when (or even if) they ever mean it literally? Anyone who could shed some light on this would be of great help to me.

belayo..i am utterly shocked wale..

"Soo dhawoow, mininka minankaagii waaye".
They usually say this when you're leaving. Do not take it literally as they only say it out of politeness.
This culture is not specific to 'cadcad' as you would hear this from a faradheer that's been born and bred in xamar (pre civil war).
