Siyad barre made a wrong decision by entering in war with ethiopia. Was he so stupid to trust the russians?
This foolish decision of him destroyed somalia and made it weak. If ethiopia fought us and violated our border then selfdefense is the right answer.But starting a foolish war because your darod brothers(ogadens)were opressed? Get the fock outta here.
Another wrong decision of siyad barre was giving his ilkoyarcrew high functions while treating any non-ilkoyar as second classcitizens.
He did not rule by shariahlaw nor respect the ulama.

A lot of people try to glorify this man and just because he's dead, we're expect to forgive him. How exactly is he suppose to be forgiven when he lead a prospering into a miserable failed state.

Siad Barre was a clever man but he failed before Soviet Union and Allies.He understimated the power of URSS and he trusted in Carter,that was a mistake.
