how come asians and arabs dont marry outside their own! why are somalis intent on marrying non somalis?

I think its largely due to the fact that there is a lot of self-hating somali people out there!

I consider 'their own' any muslim. Would you allow your sister to marry a practicing revert or an average farax that is lapse in matters of deen.


Also in another thread did you not claim that one of your parents was from mali and the other somali. Either your a hypocrite or a liar, probably both.

I think Somali ladies marry "white boys" for many reasons. I am always being asked if I know of a white brother.

I think all the reasons you guys have given are true.
Some ladies think that a white man will treat her better than a Somali, will help around the house and be affectionate. Others might be looking for a a revert because they want to marry someone that chose the religion. Others just might be attracted to white people.

I have a Somali friend that married a revert and I can tell you she has had sooooooo many problems with her family. Her dad actually disowned her. It took him years to even see his grandkids.

You all know that I am a "white girl" and that my husband is Somali. We have had our share of issues because the Somali culture is totally different than the Canadian culture. You have different upbringings and then there is the language barrier.
I use to hate it when my husband was with his mom (May Allah put her in paradise). I don't speak Somali and she didn't speak English. So when we were together he would only speak Somali and I felt totally cut off from the conversation. I couldn't share in whatever they were talking about. I knew that at times they were talking about me but I couldn't understand.

Do these women consider how long have this revert been practicing Islam?. I dont think I will trust a newly reverted/converted person, even that I'm not a big fan of interracial marriages.

I agree with what X.playa wrote before on similar topics, but I'm just going to reiterate because he is 100% right.

I think Somalis have a major social problems, somalis always complain about their girls marrying non-Somalis but there is no where Somali xijab girls can meet a like minded somali male of her peers.

Every other community has social single community clubs where even the parents go with their children to socialize with their own age from the opposite sex.

We have 90% of somali males not been able to meet a decent somali girl other then gaalo club or a dirty Ruwaayad. We have all the young ripe Somali girls locked behind doors and well fed with all those calories from rich diet of bariis and basto unburned.

The old Shukaansi of Somalia where the girl some how after months of secrecy during her evening trips to the market fetching sugar and gas for lambs and bringing a guy to her dad is over.

Instead of huge malls and masajid that costs 100,000 (I'm not saying don't expand masjids or do business, but social issues have to take precident) Somalis need to deal with reality, this menace of so many singles..should be dealt with.

We also are living the West. So I don't know why anyone would be concerned with mixing between races....it is bound to happen. People have choices. Somalis do not help themselves even in coming to the West. The killing, the laziness, the arrogance and what not has followed us here. So you have young girls (and boys) that just don't want to be associated with that.
