I am a FEMINIST, and all women should be too!
Some feminists believe that thay are superior to men and because of that men are unnecessary in every way.

Not true at all that is a misconception. Feminism is about empowerment for those in a lower rank in society, it has to do with life issues, not only women issues.

You guys are assuming feminism is a bad thing. I mean, there are plenty of women out there who would proudly call themselves feminists.

True there are a lot of different kinds of feminism and I will agree it has a noble drive i.e. equality. However there are Separatist feminists who would rather have nothing to do with men and Radical feminists who want to uproot the whole society from the core. It's not all black and white, there is bad within the good.

because women's rights and feminism are 2 different things, think of the latter as a really bad spokesperson for a well defined and solid idea.

Some of you really need to read surah A-Nisaa and understand its meaning.. then you will know a thing or 2 about women and their rights/obligations and the whole nine yard..
T least the way your creator has intended for you and for all humans...

Dont be fooled by words such as feminism , liberalism etc etc..everything that there is to know is in the Quran.

You're probably right. But if it wasn't for crazy feminists I don't think we'd have the rights we do as women right now. They may not always be well spoken but I don't think they're harmful to the cause at all. People misunderstand Islam but I think some of their concerns are sort of genuine since they are all based on what they hear from the media. Once they have more info, they won't hate on the deen so much.

indeed cawar..very well said.

the thing is that those of the feminist persuasion will find themselves in adverse to such revaluations...because feminism is akin to western civilization while women's rights was a notion implemented and guaranteed long long long before the west actually recognized women as person...and somehow we're supposed to house women's rights in its entirety under such structure? no thank you.

zulaika I agree.

You know I hate when women talk feminism and stuff.......I have a strong suspicion women resenting men causes some women to turn into wife-beater wearing butches.

On the other hand there are some men who admire the grace & beauty of women and try to feminize themselves.

I don't see it about male dominance or women dominance....I see it about gar & gardaro, rights and violations of rights. Sometimes a man is right and the women is tripping.....sometimes the man is not giving a women her rights. We have to look at the case individually and see who is wrong.

Allah tests people with their roles in life. A women may resent a man has certain privileges like leadership or what not. But everyone ALWAYS has leadership in their own domain, man or woman. 99.99999% of men will never be a leader of a people, nation, or community. They will also fall under leader to someone, so their test is to obey whoever Allah placed above them.

Bottom line, if you are not thankful for what you have already been given you will not be thankful for anything you would get and you would get.

Is it women's rights for a women to be able to:

1. Wear a business suit that's identical to a man's?
2. Yell & talk loud like a man?
3. Be forced to abandon motherhood and a woman's natural instincts to chase a meager wage and call it a "career". Wallahi some women don't even breastfeed their kids just to get back to work. It's one thing if it's a necessity, it's another when a women has an cuqdad that she's not "being all she can be" by being a good mother or wife. That's irreplaceable!!! We're seeing what happens now when kids come from broken families with no mothers at home.

"And wish not for the things in which Allah has made some of you excel the others. For men there is reward for what they have earned, (and likewise) for women there is reward for what they have earned, and ask Allah of His Bounty. Surely, Allah is Ever All-Knower of everything." (V. 4:32)

Ms. Nalia,
Some of those cultures happen to have muslim as their religion. Most people can not pick apart between culture and religion.
