But what really defines reer banadir? Are they the people who were born and raised there? Or are they Reer Xamar? Or are they Abgaal? How about Murusade?

Lets just say history, namely all the groups who historically have lived in Banadir region (both shabelle valley).

Anyways, we do not question who is Reer Mudug or Reer Bari or Reer Waqooyi, we just know who lives in those geographical spaces of Somalia. The same with Banadir.

This is not a private forum, this a section that is available to anyone. Individuals who are active on this site and engage in discussions have much more voting rights then one who magically shows up when addow name is mentioned.

Could I vote in the Puntland section, Somaliland section or wherever..No!! The only people who can vote for mods in those sections are those whose clan is from there.. So why can members that aren't even tradionally from Banaadir have a say in this section. Banaadir section should be for reer Banaadir !

In the Gedo Section, which I moderate, all active members whether any clan (it is your basis of non-banadiri) could vote so long as the voting is agreed to by active members. Nothing that has to do with ancestral homeland or what not. I am NOT from Gedo nor is my family, my mother and father were born in Ogadeniya (Hawd area) and raised in Cabudwaaq, Galguduud and Muqdisho. I have never seen any city or region in Somalia. I am not traditionally from Gedo, but I was made a MOD there. A murursade or abgaal from Galguduud can partake in the vote yet I a Marexaan from Galguduud should not even speak about it.
