Alxamdu Lilaah, my family have never, ever turned away from a Somali in need because of his qabiil. Period!! My dad thaught us that. Even though we hail from different Somali clans and my family you can find all kinds of Somali clans..Still, because my dad has treated Somalis equally..We reap the fruits now..as we are respected everywhere...

Wallaahay I enjoy, when I say I am so and so's daughter and I see love and respect in their face :rose: I hope and hope from Allaah SWT that one day I will be the same...I try my best...But I don't know if I can reach that status...

You don't want, when you mention your dad, that people's face change into a darkness and gloomyness...

Hmm .. I suppose sick minded people exist in ever community ..
Laakin not a very high percentage in ours. Last time I checked I Live in
London and people here intermarry from all sorts of tribes
meaning that they are all related to one and another somehow.

So to wish hatred upon a certain qabil or not helping them.
That means your not helping for example your daughter children
who could be from a different qabil .. which is quiet sick..

Somalis need to learn what the word equality means ..

SDM & I will never hate each other even when we get carted off to the Old Folk's home & discuss the good old days when women were seen but not heard, when men were kings of their homes, when adeer/eedo meant anyone who was aabo's friend & abti/habaryar meant anyone who was hooyo's friend.

Alhamdulillah  families like yours gives us hope. My family is the same and we also have all sorts of clans. But some people dont get we can be from opposite clans and be related or even not be related but care about others fisabilillah. One time, in Djibouti I was talking to this man who was telling me adeero so once he left an Afar friend asked how come he said adeero to me and he is Hawiye (I am Isse) so I turned to him and said his my dad's cousin from the moms side. I don't know why people are so narrow minded. I also know people who are great in every clan. I heard about an Issa man who used to pay the rent of neighbour who was a widow and it wasn't an expensive rent but still a bunch of bills to give away every month. I also know some Issas who are bad and will use their power and connection to put you down. And this is why even if I like my tribe, I will Never be convinced to hate another tribe or clan for some worldly affair.

Once when visiting the local community club one somali elder told me that you can not have TOL and/or love your qabiil unless you hate on another.
He said love and hate cancels each other. one without the other is like a horse and carriage without the horse.

i inclined to disagree.

there is nothing positive about old men and their fadhi kudirir. they are the root to the problem. but also the solution.
