How did the French find out that this man was forcing his wife to wear the niqab? Did she tell them? If his wife is being forced and his wife knows he does not have citizenship, why did she not just walk away? If you read the article you would have understood that during the interview process he admitted to refusing to accept the equality of the sexes and admitted that his wife must wear the niqaab. He might not have a knife to her throat but he was placing pressure on her to dress the way he wanted her to dress, this goes against the principles of the Republic, therefore he doesnt deserve citizenship. Simple.
