I agree with pretty much everything you wrote.

I was just putting this out there for those who think there aren't forces actively trying to recruit young Somalis and even making plans for the next 2-3 generations of hyphenated Somalis i.e. Somali-Americans, Europeans etc.

xoogSade,

Saxiib, if we live here for another 50 years or so, we will see a lot of our people becoming assimilated. It is an eventuality. The best we can hope for is that our children remain steadfast in their religion and have a love for their culture.

I know that. The sad thing is, we have no one to blame but ourselves for where we a people are at today and where we're headed several decades down the line.

Xoogsade,

Bro, lets not blame ourselves but our parents generation. When I arrived here for University, I met a Nigerian buddy who told me point blank, you are not going back to Africa and will most likely end up being here for good. I didn't believe him but I am believing that there is a strong possibility of that now.

I have given up on Somalia. Nothing seems familiar anymore: the people are different, culture is gone, increased ruthlessness, enemies everywhere.

So saxiib, I suggest you invest in your retirement accounts and perhaps we can play Chess in the Nursing Home (hopefully the kids will put us up in a good one).

Click on that link and see how hard these missionaries are working to convert our people, specially the poor and unedcuated ones.

What is wrong with Christians proselytizing? Muslims do worse things to convert others. In Egypt, for instance, Muslims kidnap and sometimes rape young girls in attempt to force their families to convert. In Pakistan it is even worse. At least these Christians aren't killing or coercing these Somalis into converting to Christianity.

As a murtad, I will never advice any Somali to substitute their current false and superstitious believes for Christian ones.

Islam and Christianity are both false and man-made creeds.

Pray for those who are preparing the
translation of the Bible and other Christian
materials into Af-Maay that they
would have diligence, insight and wisdom
through the help of the Holy Spirit. This
will allow for God’s truth to be conveyed
to a significant minority group in Somalia.
Give thanks for those whom God has
called to develop Christian resources in
the Af-Maay language.
WTF

Pray that the Somali's would come to know Jesus Christ, who is the Bread of Life.
Pray for Somali Christians, who are greatly despised by their people.
Ask God to touch the hearts of Christians in northern Ethiopia so that they would be willing to share God's love with the Somali's in the southern provinces.
Ask the Lord to raise up Christian teachers who will work among the Somali and share Christ's love with them.
Pray that God will raise up prayer teams to go and break up the soil through worship and intercession.
Ask God to grant favor and wisdom to the missions agencies that are targeting the Somali.
Pray for effectiveness of the Jesus film among them.
Ask God to anoint the Gospel as it goes forth via radio and television to the Somali.
Pray that God will reveal Himself to them through dreams and visions.
Ask the Holy Spirit to soften their hearts towards Christians so that they will be receptive to the Gospel.
Ask the Lord to raise up strong local churches among the Somali.
Damn now this one was kinda funny to me
