Colonel, there's a difference between mountain and hill. A mountain has a certain height and other physical characteristics. Looking at the physical map of Somalia, especially the Gedo area, it doesn't show mountainous heights.

I know that but Mataa Arbo looked pretty big the last time I saw it. Also, theres a city in Gedo called Buur Dhuubo (never seen it) but I'd assume its name has something to do with mountains in the vicinity.

Ganja

I fail to see what you're laughing at.

Arabman

I'm no expert but the rocks were pretty big. Get with Qansa or some of my other Reer Gedo kinsmen here, they might have some pictures or more indepth knowledge of it.

LOL some folks needs to learn the difference between a mountain and a hill. Only the north of Somalia has mountains.

Just because we call it all Buur, doesn't mean every Buur is a mountain.

Still laughing @ Gedo has mountains.

James Dahl wrote:Ptolemy's description of the Indian Ocean coast is rather different, placing Rhapta further north near to Kismayo, and Opone much further south, but if you read the Periplus differently actually it could place Opone where Ptolemy places it as well.

James Dahl,
On the map ABOVE Opone is placed near Hobyo.

Gawaan-Gararow Highland qualifies as Mountain ( Latitude. 5.3133333°, Longitude. 48.2947222° ) . From Gawaan Highland you can see Hobyo Beach (35km) and Celhur (60km) south of Gawaan. Therefore, Gawaan highland must have a peak of 8-plus.
