The bay area doesn't have too much Somalis, and Your Uncle is probably well off, that area is expensive as shyt. Most Somalis in the West Coast are either in San Diego or Seattle. From what I've seen Habar Awal are kinda ilbax, into Siyaasad and the Habar Jeclo I've seen are Ultra Religious almost militant

You serious man? Bay area has a ton of Somalis especially San Jose, but all over the valley from Salinas to Frisco to Monterrey bay (not Santa Cruz area) but has tons of Somalis. Goljano is from bay area maybe he knows Keyse's family especially since they are both Habar Awal
I remember I went to Santa Cruz for a month back in '03 and even then all the taxi drivers at the boardwalk were Somali

You reminded Me of one of those isaaq saudi kids I mentioned. This was a kid I met, He Had all the Saudi gear, but I knew He was Somali. he didn't speak a lick of Somali as His dad was practically born in Saudi. First question He asked Me in Arabic kawaran was What qabiil are You, lol..I told Him, and He was like I never heard of them. I'm gonna go ask My Dad. I didn't see HIm since, but He probably wouldn't want to talk to Me, if He saw Me again, lol..

You are going to hate where I live (Seattle area) they call it "emerald city" and my state "evergreen state"..ten minutes out of the city and it is lakes, mountains, and wilderness

Londoners hate their city but I liked it. I admit I didn't really see many parts of it but I liked where my family lived called Hammersmith. London is great, I would work there and vacation somewhere else though

I always imagined London as a crowed place yet most of the streets on those pics look deserted. A nice look still.

^The 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th pic is Wembley. That area is packed out in the morning and afternoons.
You couldn't even walk on the pavement as people crowded up to wait for the buses. Now they have gotten rid of what was once a somali square and extended the pavements. Summer time is when this area should be avoided.

I met people from almost all of their sub-clans
Isaaq & Dir
Majerteen & Warsangeli
Habar Gedir

Dude are you really living in Dubai???
Isaaq are a small minority today probably 10% of somalis in the UAE.
Up to 95 there were nearly 100,000 somalis in the UAE mostly in Abudhabi and 3/4 Isaaq and the rest Dhulos and Warsangeli and Gadabursi
a very small percentage of hawiye and other daroods.
nearly all of these fled for Europe and Americas and the rest returned to somaliland....
after 91 an entirely new population of somalis that do not speak arabic at all came mostly from moqadishu
today most somalis in dubai are hawiye .
