Indeed i agree it would have made it easier people wanting to go straight from hargeysa to burco without passing berbera.

before any other road is built, the new government must re build the old ones in the streets of hargeysa
secondly providing a sufficient water to the capital hargeysa, thirdly bringing back the glory and the productive days of berbera port, last but not least decreasing the BUSAARADa :D

Of course President Siilaanyo (sounds funny as I was too used to president rayaale :) ) will be given time but he has 5 years of his new term to prove himself. I will list some of the main objectives he should focus on during his 5 years.
In no particular order:

Redeveloping Berbera port - this is an important task as the current state of it is very bad, also the port of Berbera contributes the most to somaliland's budget i.e. export of livestock

Providing access to clean, safe drinking water - the plan is to drill fresh water wells to as many villages all around Somaliland, starting with those that are in most need, and constructing other sustainable water projects. This again is a high priority task as there are many droughts in Somaliland especially during the jiilaal season.

Building an efficient road network - building an extension from boorame to saylac aswell as a main highway to the eastern towns such as ceerigaabo, garadag, ceelafweyn etc. Similar to this map:

Also they can consider to building a road network to all villages, for better access, in future aswell as paving all roads in the major cities i.e. Hargeysa, Burco, Boorame, Berbera, Ceerigaabo etc.

Creating more jobs for the Somaliland public - this is a general problem all over africa so somaliland is no exception and it is also not as easy as it sounds however they could create jobs for the locals from the projects mentioned above. Such as the road project, this would need alot of man power and therefore they can recruit the locals and give them the necessary training to work in that field.

All in all the president will have alot of work on his hands and insha'allah even if we see him achieve one of those then that is great progress  :D
The road to Djibouti should be from Hargeysa , Agabar , Geerisa, Lowyacada . Or Berbera Zeila if they are looking for a flatter terrain .
Why should it pass through Boroma ?

That doox is called barisley , it is right out of Lowyacada .

Sahan Galbeed , maybe residents in borama need that road more often don't you think since they always travel to djibouti.

Man shut the hell up you're getting on my nerves
I have traveled that road{driven} form hargeysa to Djibouti maybe a hundred times .
There is more traffic that leaves Lowyacada to Hargeysa than there is to Boroma .
Plus the proposed road up there from Boroma to Zeyla is the current path the big truck take .The 4X4 even the ones to Boroma for the majority{or at least when I was there } used to take the same route as ours until Gerisaa .Afet Geerisa they would turn West and we would continue South

So you would propose the road to be started from hargeysa all the way to seylac instead of borama-seylac miyaa.

The easier to build would be Berbera to Zeila . Note for us Boroma is closer .
My plan is build a road from Lowyacada to Geerisa , it is desert like this

then from Geerisa , junction point one towards Boroma , one Hargeysa, one Lughaya / Berbera

Sahan, I wasn't sure which road went to djibouti as I have never been by road however I was sure that the landcruisers to djibouti didn't go directly from hargeisa but through gabiley and boorame.
However then again I have seen some buses that went to tuulos such as balayga cas north of hargeisa and then towards xeebta such as sabawanaag and lughaya all the way to saylac and lowyacadde - maybe then road is more smoother as it is sand rather than through the mountains of almis

This is how you get from Hargeysa to Djibouti

Hargeysa >Gogol Wanaag {just to make a couple of members here happy  }>Agabar>Cali Xaydh >Qabri Baxar> Garbo Dadar>Waraqa Dhigta> Geerisa>Ceel Gaal >via the waraabod straight to Lowyacada .>Djibouti .

I am encouraged by the credentials of the guy who seems to be the lead condidate for the finance ministry.
That's about it .I also think he should help develop the Bari regions , cabashada reer bariga waxba ka jira baan filaya
