Indeed i agree it would have made it easier people wanting to go straight from hargeysa to burco without passing berbera.

The road to Djibouti should be from Hargeysa , Agabar , Geerisa, Lowyacada . Or Berbera Zeila if they are looking for a flatter terrain .Cumar-Labasuul wrote:Obviously the general public of somaliland were in celebratory mood these past few days, but now it's time to see the real work. Of course President Siilaanyo (sounds funny as I was too used to president rayaale) will be given time but he has 5 years of his new term to prove himself. I will list some of the main objectives he should focus on during his 5 years.
In no particular order:
Redeveloping Berbera port - this is an important task as the current state of it is very bad, also the port of Berbera contributes the most to somaliland's budget i.e. export of livestock
Providing access to clean, safe drinking water - the plan is to drill fresh water wells to as many villages all around Somaliland, starting with those that are in most need, and constructing other sustainable water projects. This again is a high priority task as there are many droughts in Somaliland especially during the jiilaal season.
Building an efficient road network - building an extension from boorame to saylac aswell as a main highway to the eastern towns such as ceerigaabo, garadag, ceelafweyn etc. Similar to this map:
Also they can consider to building a road network to all villages, for better access, in future aswell as paving all roads in the major cities i.e. Hargeysa, Burco, Boorame, Berbera, Ceerigaabo etc.
Creating more jobs for the Somaliland public - this is a general problem all over africa so somaliland is no exception and it is also not as easy as it sounds however they could create jobs for the locals from the projects mentioned above. Such as the road project, this would need alot of man power and therefore they can recruit the locals and give them the necessary training to work in that field.
All in all the president will have alot of work on his hands and insha'allah even if we see him achieve one of those then that is great progress![]()

This is how you get from Hargeysa to DjiboutiSahan, I wasn't sure which road went to djibouti as I have never been by road however I was sure that the landcruisers to djibouti didn't go directly from hargeisa but through gabiley and boorame.
