Converts are generally overzealous, an attire is a clear expression of their new found identity, born muslims seem to think converts are generally more practising than them. Same whith white Bhuddists, they embrace the whole look and eager to stand in city centres giving out leaflets.

There is also one thing if a revert was cultured and from good family before he became muslim and had some adaab he will tend to be a very good muslim but if a revert was a street junky/street peddler/hustler and reverted to Islam then his world view would be influenced greatly by his past and will be driven by hype as compared to the former who is driven by intellect and conviction.

I would forgive a teenager for his/her hype but it will be strange for one to be 25 and above and still has hype.
Cos teneegers are mostly rebelious but once the intelect kicks in they become very humble.

Very true, majority of converts are from poor working class backgrounds. If you come from a dysfunctional family and no father or mother role model, it will affect your perception of marriage for example. This is one reason i think converts have high divorce rates. They have difficulty in sustaining a relationship and the beginning and end of the marriage resembles that of a girlfriend/boyfriend type of relationship. An example is i have come across a number of female converts who marry just after their iddah, of course its halal, but if you are a cultured person you will recognise that its not an appropriate behaviour. As for their passion for sectarian division and insults thrown at some sheikhs, its akin to gang culture.

Iddah is the waiting period a woman must wait after a divorce or if she is a widow before she can remarry.
