The inhabitants of Socotra are one of the most ancient types of Semites, still speaking a language closely related to Akkadian and proto-Semitic. They have no cultural, linguistic or genetic ties to Somali people. The average Somali is much closer to the Maasai-like Rendille people of far central Kenya than they are to Socotris. Why don't you claim them while you are at it?
