What do you mean that's one hadeeth? These Scholars are being inspired by that hadeeth.

Well, I know what I am going to say would make me to be disliked, but I am afraid this kind of Hadiths unless really interpreted makes me wonder the autenticity of Hadiths.
It made me sick. I am not joking. From now on I am gonna stick to the Quran.

Hold on sis I don't want you to go against ALL ahadeeth..,most do not contradict with verses from the Qur'an or common sense. Occasionally you will stumble upon ones that will make your eyes pop out of their sockets ..in those cases just use the Qur'an as your yardstick.

Re: Saudi Clerics Advocate Adult Breast-Feeding
Its obvious that the hadith was taken out of context. Its not applicable under every scenario and certainly not to just anyone. It has to be an infant or at least a young person who's about to reach puberty, and must be fed at least 5 times, to his stomach's content and he must be an orphan or an adopted son. Sh. Boqolsoon talked about it years ago and I do remember his explanation of this ruling and the wisdom behind it. What woman can produce enough breast milk to satisfy all her colleagues? How many women are producing breast-milk every single day, for an unspecified period of time? What man wants to drink a strange woman's breast-milk? This is inaccurare and a misuse of hadiths. Its also a very poor mechanism for dealing with a sensitive issue like this.

Re: Saudi Clerics Advocate Adult Breast-Feeding
E-sistah we are not scholars and are not trained in ahadith science, and we are not aware of the number of hadiths connected to this issue. That being said we should jump to bringing hadith only, because we are a deen of fiqh and our ulema have made clear what is haram and halal to us with their great effort and may allah reward them. As I cannot be a judge of what the hadith pertains to but it raises more questions than it answers.
What is the relationship of a slave to their masters.
What is the relationship once they become slaves.
What about when one lives with them.
In which way does she suckle him directly or indirectly.
How does the relationship of the husband affect this, i.e. if he feels uncomfortable or not.
And what are the two outcomes, if she suckles him and he stays in the house, or if she doesn't suckle him and what happens to the freed slave then.
And was this later made haraam?
E-sistah as you can you what the harm can be done by walaashis reaction. I myself once came close to leaving the deen when I was younger because I read an anti Islamic website that made use of hadith that puzzled me and went contrary with my understanding. And the hadiths goes hand in hand with the Qur'an, we cannot reject some because of our ignorance. Many people have left the deen because they didn't follow up with a proper sheikh with knowledge. If it is causing a lot of turmoil in your heart it is best you avoid researching hadith all together and save your imaan.

Re: Saudi Clerics Advocate Adult Breast-Feeding
Its not just this hadith that addressed it. There is another hadith that explains just who this applies to, how many times it must be done before he becomes a muhram, and the reasoning. Regarding Abu Hadhaifa's freed slave, he was barely an adult male and was an adopted son of the household. Sh. Boqolsoon said the reasoning was to make him a muhram since he lived in the home and would constantly be running in to or being alone with the females of the household. There was no other way of keeping him at bay, except to kick him out of the home, but can a workplace or even a classroom be similar to a scenario like this? The answer is obviously NO. It has to be either an orphan or an adopted male.

Perhabs that is the aim? Bring doubt in the minds and hearts of muslims on the function of Hadith and drive all muslims to loose faith in hadith. Making Quran the only source of guidance... It is only my opinion however i wonder how much Impact this would have on the day to day way of life of muslims if all hadith are removed from islamic practice?Walaashiis wrote:Enlightened~Sista wrote:I apologise it isn't in Bukhari but Sahih Muslim
