Are we talking about Qurbaha or Backhome? If we are talking about backhome most clans tend to marry among themselfs apart from the pastoralists who live in miyiga. As for Qurbaha it's true you will see all kinds.

On a second note though it all depends on which clans your family consider shisheeye or not.

Bck home the majority do marry among thier own sub clans but thier are always a few exception .. but i think that a families perception of shisheeye is true i agree with you on that one Sicid

Intermarriage is not something that is new it has been happening for centuries however one needs to analyse it's positives & negatives.

Negatives
For example for males if your kids reer abti are a rival tribe (who constanly clash with your clan) that doesn't look good. Because your kids will lose people on both sides whenever a clash between the sides ensues compared to say if their reer abti were from a different clan that doesn't clash with your clan.


Positives
If your kids reer abti are different from that of yours they tend to have a different experience and wider links with the somali race and they can go to alot of clan settlements using their reer abti's clan connection.

What has it brang except more war and disaster? The whole wisdom of inter-clan marriage was so that a new generation born have good relations with their reer abti. But I've noticed that over 90% of the wars between Somalis are between close relatives and ilmo abtiyaal i.e Kalshaale,ceelberdaale, galkacyo etc.So if intermarriage doesn't bring us closer then it might aswell be cancelled for good. Iddoor marry Iidoor, Gadabursi marry Gadabursi and Darood marry Darood.

SO you assertion here is that clan-intermarriages have caused conflict and are therfore bad. That is nonsense.

In order to have inter-clan marriages you need two clans right? If you look at all the places you mentioned, they are where two or more clans come together. The cause of conflict is not inter-clan marriage.
