Definitely the increase of tuition is going to be a slap in the face for future student. A solution would be move to Wales to study as fees won't increase or study in other European countries. I heard many English students choose to study in the Netherlands as fees are lower. As many young Somalis in UK moved from Netherlands I can't see why they woulnt follow a similar path.

The reality is many Somali Youth are not dedicated and descipline enough to put up with the endless number of hours one must spend on reading books and studying to get decent grades to succeed. They have no role models and no motivation to change the situation around them.

MPhil

Couldn't read anymore books and the scholarship of £1000/month was not attractive so dropped PHD. No intention of going back anytime soon.

P.s i know of no wealthy Phd holders, as excess education only makes you another man's employee for the rest of your life.

lol@ people people claiming they have their PhD  Associates..maybe...bachelors....maybe......Masters......big maybe but PhD?

There is roughly 250 Somali students at my university, approximately 192 of them are girls. By far majority of them are majoring in Pyschology, nursing or dertemology. There are few students who are majoring in Archeology and political science but that is all the fields that Somalis students are trying to get into.

I am serious.

Some of them are non-traditional students. There are 3 Somali professors as well.

I hate going to school with Somalis. Somalis are the largest minority group in my school and to be honest with you the most embarrasing. let me tell you why, at the corridor of my univesity there are flags representing countries that the student are from. Despite the fact that we are the largest minority group, our country is not represented because Somalis keep stealing our Flag. I bought the flag (because of patriotism) twice to replace the stolen one but Some one keep stealing it (I suspect it is one of the students of s-land :o ).
