Actually they don't. I was talking to My Grandad one time (Fathers side) and He mentioned that as a kid in Gedo, and to my shock He swore to me that He never heard the name Hawiye until He came to Xamar. The only clans He knew were Ogadeen, Raxanwein, Harti and thats it. To be honest though I don't think this is strange, Somalis really didn't know each other inti Xamar laisku imaanin in the '50s '60s, '70s.

The same maybe be said about Abgaal I guess all they have seen is Hawiye and jareer weyn with some reer xamar.

An abgaal has never heard of Darood, Isaq or Raxaweyn.
