I always felt compelled to help Muslim businesses, be it white, somali, asian, arab, whatever. But their lack of professionalism and customer service is seriously starting to piss me off. You go to an Asian chicken shop, he somehow serves the black and cadaan people before you thinking this Muslim brother can wait, you go to the somali owned xawaalad or mechanics, he tells you to come at 10, he opens like 3 hrs later. Same shid with the Eygptian owned cafe, always making you pay up front unlike they other non muslim customers. I don't know man, just needed to rant, shid seriously pisses me off. They need to learn the basic fundamentals of customer service and later they wonder why the non muslim businesses are successful and they close up after 3 months.

Not saying all muslim businesses are like this, maybe just the ones I have come across in London.

Go ahead...give your money to the catholics jews and w.e

This shit happens everywhere. Growing up, my dad would always take me to a certain Somali barbershop to get my hair cut. After we moved to the suburbs that was on the other side of town, my dad still felt compelled to take me there. A bunch of times they would open late or never open up. One day, after driving for 40minutes just to get there in the middle of the day, the store's closed. Call the store's number "Sorry, this phone number is out of service" The look on my dad's face was priceless

Somalis are a total failure when it comes to business professionalism. They need to take lessons from Arabs (particularly Lebanese) on how to properly do business and how to rip someone off :P

Nobleman, apparently its normal for this to happen. I talked about it with my cousins couple of days later, and they all looked at me like I was the weird one. They basically said I should just take whats ready at the time.
That is def the norm with somali makayaads. I went to one near my masjid, I mean the food can taste nasty for all I care, but comon how hard is it to serve warm food.

My far the worst customer service experience its at Somali restaurants
I hate dealing with Somali businesses

The Arabs before used to treat me niiiice, always knocking a few pounds off the stuff I was getting and were always very friendly. These somalis that own it now...bloody #/%@#!. :x A while ago, all I was getting was 2 bags of haduudh...I went to the counter and the somali fella was like "Sorry, you need to spend a minimum of intaas oo gini to pay by card". I didnt have any change and it was pissing down with rain and the nearest cash point was a bit of a walk away. I was soaked when i entered the shop already and hes telling me to go to the freakin' cashpoint when it was raining cats and dogs!!! I wasnt expecting him to let me off and i would take the stuff for free or something, just let me pay by card!! He said, 'No' numerous times and told me to jog on, nacalaa. I swore id never go in there again after that but a few months later, I was on the bus home and hooyo called me. She was in need of some hilib and when i told her I was on so and so street she said...Haa, hadaba tukaanka hilibka ii si mar hooyo. I reluctantly entered and the somali guy at the hilib counter was serving 1 man. When he was done and saw me waiting.....for some fckin unknown reason he turned hes back on me and PRETENDED he was doing something else. I think he wanted to keep me in the shop for as long as possible because after that (all the pretending) he struck up a conversation with some other somali man and the other end of the shop. WTF! Fcking bastaadh still hasnt served me! When he finally looked at me as if to ask.."Haa walal, maxaan kuu keena?". I gave the idiot one ddddiiiirty look and walked out. I crossed the road to one of their rival meat shops...I hadnt been inside there before 'coz it was quite small and didnt really look like it had much. It was an Arab owned meat shop, the stuff was cheaper...and the people nicer. Never again am I entering that bloody somali shop again.

 walahi I can relate to that story lol. How many times I go to Somali owned businesses and they dont even acknowledge you. I am standing inside your shop, in front of the till, does it look like i'm looking to past time

Walahi your right. The amount of times I switched at them and then they happen to serve me quicker. Muslims generally walk over nice people and react to angry people. No manners.

Imagine brother I am in Mecca at the haram. The days sawm has come to an end, you been fasting all day in the hot hot weather. You already know ones patience is low. But your iman is higher than normal and you hear all these ayahs about the sabiroon etc. So your lining up to buy food and even more improtantly quench your thirst. Most of the fast food workers happen to be Egyptian or hindi. Your lining up tryna not lose your patience when the man is serving 20 people who came after you first. All these gulf arab treating the workers with absolute contempt and theres me tryna be nice. Walahi after day 20 I had no choice but to treat them like filth, that was the only way I could get served. Muslims can sometimes be backwards

Nah its called having manners and being patient. Something a lot of people need classes in, especially Muslims.

The best somali bussines are those MUSLIM brothers that close their shops during every salat, . They are more worm towards their customers regardless who they are.

 No, ruunti, alhamdulilah I get good customer service too, the majority of the time. To the point of embarrassment sometimes actually, this man was serving me (Somali) and I was just after some INFO, nothing else, and this lady rushes in and wants to go before me. He refused point blank, and got pissed off with her, she too got pissed off. I rate him for standing his ground. This other time, we went all the way to some other shop for Xalwo and this man got there before us, but he shared it with us (out of kindness), and we shared it with some young teenage boy too. Its good being a lady and a Somali

But yeah, this one time I got bad service from this local chicken shop, and next time I went I there SO pissed off, and he could see by my tone and complaints, from that time on, all my stuff was on point. (asian)

The Somali restaurants I been too have always been good. I've been to Blue Ocean, always get what I want, always the service is good, 1 or 2 time a bit late, or the food wasn't that good, but the majority good alhamdulilah.
