And yeah, it's. You hear a lot of stories that girls who normally wear their denims go to a religious ceremony ('cause Hibaaq, Sahra & Anab are attending) so they dress appropriately since there are going to be 100's of eyes; looking and judging eyes. The funny thing is, as soon as the ceremony finishes and they are out of the door they get their jeans & tight shirts out of bags and change into them.

Why would one be afraid of people if they aren't afraid of their creator? :?
That's exactly what I was getting at...being more concerned with the reaction and not the action itself
I read this couple of days ago from a site, "Haddaanu hadalno waa af salax ku dhagayagii; haddaanu aamusnana adhiga laynta laga dayn maayo."

Only a brainless would show up half naked.2 month ago i went to this islamic event and some girls who walk around in skinny jeans and never wore xijaab in their entire life, showed up wearing niqaab. That is a bit to much if you ask me,Ka badbadiska ma fiicna.
I understand what you're saying, but what about if one does it out of respect for Allah?

Even if you do it for the sake of the people, i dont consider it hypocritical. At the end of the day you are doing the action and not going against the norms of your group/community. The people dont know what is in your heart and you are not causing disruption by being immodest. Allah wants us to dress modesty for our own sake, so even if you dont believe in it and you still do it, you get to avoid the problems that come with immodesty, so the result is the same.

^^^ Sorry, I disagree with you. When it comes to dressing for both Muslim men and women, not only was it narrated in countless hadiths, there's also a verse in the Quran that orders both Muslim males & females how to dress. Such order (I know most of us don't follow them 100 % all the time) are obligatory; there's no choice. That's for the pious Muslim.

So no, the result is not the same. We are supposed to dress in that way to avoid fitnah among people and one must dress accordingly when in public.

It's not like it's sin to dress modestly when you're in a Islamic event and it's OK in everywhere else.

You can't drink your Starbucks and have it!
