meroe is our ancestral land..

dont claim things that have nothing to do with you...

you can claim meroe if you distance yourself from bantu...

for it is already an accepted fact that you all came from cameroon

read extensively meru history. WE ARE THE TRUE REMNANTS OF MEROE,i know the truth is bitter to some people. merus have always said they came from the north. we just got bantunized in kenya, just like bantu in somalia have been somalinized. culture is dynamic. cushites didnt exist in any civilization during meroe time, they were bands of barbarians.MEROE AND CUSHITES ARE VERY DIFFERENT

how do the myths of one small tribe in kenya claiming origin from the north = comming from meroe?

do you know the history of meroe? do you even share any culture?

so what, the masai also come from the north and they are nilotic and have come from the nile valley
but there are no bantus in the sahara..
you are a forest people, you share nothing with those who live in the sahara..

:D :D :D , Gurey, i bet, u were thinking of your Borg theory...

Greetings and Ramadan Kariim Comrade Abdulwahab!
It seems everyone, in the horn, claims coming from elsewhere; our two people are the only ones claiming no outside ancestory.

interesting, but this is not an academic book, its is about your peoples journey from the north to the south
and enslavement by the red people..

having a similiar name is not enough, we need to look at the langauge and see the borrowed words, the words used for day to day items...

even if you have been bantusized , there will be evidence ..

there is also genetic evidence this is the easiest and more accurate

Gurey, if some oromos and somalis can claim Kush (I still dont know wat is Kush) with whom they have no name ressemblance,
why cant our Meru good friend could not claim an ancient prestigious civilisation with the name sounding like his tribe

In the worls of claiming there is no truth, one should just show up with plausible myth!
His myth sounds more plausible than oromo/somali claim of the inexistence Kush :!:

james the Akichu case is different,
in early 16th century Akichu was one of the major Bareentuma tribes...
They lost their importance due to the rise of Afran Qallo three century ago.
They are integrated under the Oborraa Qallo clans ; and some do live further in the east as far as Northern Somalia.

Hawiya and Hawiye, in my opinion, only share the names...whereas Akichu and Akisho share even the name of the subclans!
In comparing the subclans of the Oborra Akichu and the Akisho, u will find, although the Oborra Akichu has less subclans, they share many subclan names.

greetings union, gurey our oral history is consistent of meroe timeline. we say after fall of meroe we got enslaved by red people, arabs for many years, during this time most of our culture and language was destroyed. am just saying we are the remnants not 100% meroitic, but certainly we retained the name throughout, just like madhibaan in somalia. how do you explain the hausa? did they adopt the language or they are your genetic kin?anyway am proud bantu now and proud of my origin from meroe,we retained what we could just like the jews after too much turbulence

Meru i was not aware of you oral history untill now,
and it facinates me, i love a mystery...

the first one is the red people, who are not arabs, arabs did not play a big role in those days
and the Mbwa the lake, river large body of water you crossed...

There are many candidates for the name Red Men in the north, the Beja have a clan called Red Men, and so do the Afar
there are also Red men among the masalit in darfur

it may be possible that you come from meroe, but you will need to get genetic testing...
if a somali tribe Garre can end up in Chad and have president hussien habre as a decendent than anything is possible.

and meru we have zero links to the huasa/fulani though some resemble us..

this website http://www.bluegecko.org/kenya/tribes/m ... .htm#meroe is informative. to cut long story short meru are a melting point/mixture/almagm(sic) of bantu, nilote and cushites. researchers have settled on 2theories of migration, bantu and cushitic, the meroe/meru name could have been introduced by the remnants. remember meroe is a foreign name used by greeks or romans. meru was the original name closely written meruwah in arabic. anyway i rest my case. peace out
