Civil engineering? That's a dead end. The only two engineering fields I would recommend is biomedical and petroleum engineering.

DanGirl, this is for US consumption. The US will be investing billions in construction and manufacturing sectors to revive its economy. Biomedical and petroleum engineering are great fields, but I wouldn't discount civil engineering.

WiglessBiddar, yes, the school career counseling office should be a resource to consult, in-addition to finding what one's apptitude is, however that does not negate reading about trends and doing one own research about the chosen field.
