It would have been better to have a similar stance as Abdisamad and Voltage will always be your cousin even if he became a murtad. However I consider Voltage a believer because of previous post defending Islam, even though he made a major mistake in making dua for kufar forces. But that can mainly be attributed to blindly following his clan.

Grandpakhalif their is major benefit in keeping tribal ties and don't burn your bridges because in the future you can give them naseeha, however avoid insulting other clans and supporting your clan when they are clearly wrong. What you should do is encourage them to what is khair and forbid them from what is evil in a caring manner.
