Those gentlemen considered themselves Somalis and had no other loyalties. If I became a PM, and was summoned by the American Ambassador, I'd have to go see him for fear of losing my citizenship.

We are agree on the principle but differ on strategy.
I think the first step to counter the phenomenon of crowding out should be to ensure that diaspora somalis who take office domicile themselves and their families in Somalia. As things stand now, only tribalists and conflict entrepreneurs hold offices.
There was a relative of mine real loser who was named a minister a few years ago and he went to somalia by himself; he married (modern day concubinism) when he lost his position he left her and went to live with his family in the diaspora.
