I was working for UNDP a couple of months ago, but I recently got a job at the academy for peace and devolopment(APD) as a researcher alxamdulilah Iife is good backhome. My parents live here they moved back in '04 so they made my transition a little easier, but it takes time to get used to living here I just recently started to actually enjoy my time here the first few months were hell on earthSaraxnow wrote:garad13 wrote:Yes I live in HargeisaSaraxnow wrote:@Gar Do you live in Somaliland at the moment because it seems like all that you have stated was what I have been told by relatives living there
If you live then you must work there. So, what do you do? I plan on working there for a couple of months.

If the lady has a small business than she must be here legally, the freeloaders are the issue.

I mean i have no problem if people work pay tax and live in Somaliland and make an decent earnings like the Koonfurians , But these oromos beg and beg and beg and beg and continue to beg and the little money they beg is send back to Ethiopia the money does not even circulate in our country. Dad wax taraya la so dhaweysta I heard yemenis are fleeing from yemen to Berbera bal kuwasanu eegi.

Exactly most oromos did not want to stay in Somaliland in the first place they just ran out of money to tahrib to Yemen so they take jobs as maids and watchmans then save money to take that long journey and walk all the way to bossaso to tahrib to yemen, other register themselves at UNCHR and sit and wait.khalid ali wrote:Yeah she had a little shah Business at shacabka she was very popular all the qurba joogs ka u tagi jiray maxay lacageysatey

Most of our money go to Oromo khat plantations, then they want us to give the rest of our money to them through begging

I haven't seen Yemenis in Berbera yet, but during ramadan I went to lughaya for a survey we were doing and saw many yemenis there, they are resourceful people yemenis and are too proud to beg unlike oromos who don't find begging shameful.

I find it ironic that a people whose sole goal in life is to leave Somalia and become refugees in the western countries, mostly surviving on state handouts and living in public housing, can express so much animus and hostility to others in a similar position.
it reminds me of the story about the two Egyptian beggars, one claiming to be more superior compared to the other. When asked why by a British official, the first beggar said, "Because he is a beggar and has no shame".
"But aren`t you too a beggar"? Replied the official.
"Ah yes...but I beg in the coffee shops, while he begs in the street"
These people in the future will provide the backbone of the northern industrial/agricultural workforce in the nugaal valley area, insha allah.
